Does anyone have a real source for the announcement? Droid Life has no source and many other places source them or also have no source. Could be fake.

That would be a cruel joke and it's not even April 1st yet

Yeah seems one site posting it and sourcing it from another; all with the same "information" from Verizon. Either way, I'm sure it will be announced by them sooner than later (and buried as far on their site as possible, so it's hard to locate). Their network optimization FAQ still states that LTE users will be subjected to optimization, but I'd expect (hope) it to be updated in the next 24 hours.

Yes they have ! I am really not sure why you want to argue this cause you are clearly wrong. They also didn't send notices in peoples bills who were under contract back in August and had unlimited. Sounds to me like you are a hater cause you don't have unlimited data

Lol boy was he wrong.

When that was posted I was 100% correct. Things change and you were the one that said everybody would be throttled ! So who is more right ? The answer is not you

No I said they announced it a couple weeks ago. I never said I had inside sources from Verizon that said it was happening

From what I'm reading on that page, they're only going to throttle you back when you've exceeded 4.7GB and the tower you're connected to is congested. That's not that bad -- much better than how AT&T does it, which has a hard cutoff of 5GB no matter how many people are on the tower.

Not just the tower; the sector. Each cell has three sectors (120 degrees of coverage). Additionally, they determine if a sector is congested multiple times per second. Or so they say.

I could have agreed with this being faked but then I saw the statement on GigaOm's web site - a VZW News Center partner, and (more reinforcing to me) Tom Wheeler's comments on the change.

I'm good.

Verizon still hasn't posted this anywhere on their site, nor have they changed any of the information in the Network Optimization FAQ (it still says LTE customers will be optimized). I certainly have zero doubt that it was decided to not move forward with it, but it'd be nice to see Verizon actually comment on it directly. Either way I'm sure they have some other trick in the their bag, only time will tell.

I guess this makes is somewhat more credible (again not that I didn't think it was, but with just postings about what "Verizon told us", etc. --
