Videos working fine on Linux in Chrome on a 20Mb connection. All those complaining about Flash need to upgrade their G4s because this laptop I am on is far from high spec.
The issue I'm having with the videos is that they don't let you pause, pre-load, and play. When I press pause, it appears to pre-load, but when I press play, it takes me back to the start of the video, shows me 4-6 more seconds than it did the previous time, then freezes. After about three times of that I just gave up.

Well that does suck balls but that's a poorly made control. Doesn't mean flash is inherently bad. Might also be a problem with your connection.

He sounds to me just like he did at Apple in pre-Mac days.

Missed the point completely.

He still "sounds" like Steve, I'm not saying his accent has altered.

I'm saying his voice is now weak and cracking ... there's no strength in his voice.

It's understandable given what he's been through.

Ironically, I've tried to watch the video three times and every time it crashed my browser.

i just loved the at&t clip. the guy having problems with calls droping. what if it doesn't get better? "then it wont" wow what a answer.

Jones....

Oh, yes. Ballmer speaks of the Tablet leveling marketplaces and laying waste to entire product lines. A CEO which carries the Tablet before him... is invincible... [ominously]

Yeah, I find it odd that Steve's saying Flash isn't good, but the video is in Flash.

Also, anyone else find it weird that when Steve was first introduced, they played a Beatles song, yet the Beatles aren't on the iTunes Store?

Too bad he's a vegan.

I too noticed the introduction, thought it was great and fitting considering his vitality: fidgeting, tone of voice, passionate stare ... its all Steve. I just hope he doesn't use up ALL that energy during the conference.

Also there is NOTHING wrong with being a Vegan. 30yrs ago Frank Zane won Mr. Universe 2 times (I think it was 2 if not 1 or sure) and even BEAT Schwarzenegger due to small calfs - and HE was a Vegan!
Plant sterols, whey protein isolates, betagen, and even whole foods like Greens plus, and Vega (no gluten) have come a LONG LONG way ... unsure if still too harsh on kidneys though. It'll take some time, probably 1year from being released from the hospital just to show these signs of vitality we're seeing now just 6mths into the recovery.

While everybody at Apple is getting buff Steve is getting his energy back, this means his appetite will as well - I STILL want him to have a 50/50% On/Off duty at Apple so his full health is restore and he comes in blazing and kicking all drummers.

ok, he doesn't LOOK well, I am going to say that his ailments will take a long time to recover from... he does appear to be a little stronger however.

What's awesome to see is the passion with which he speaks... he is firing on all cylinders. Go Steve! GO!

He's getting better - but his vitality kept my eyes off his visual appearance for most of the clips which is refreshing!! Still one still of those video clips seem to show a recent venipuncture hole from a catheter which is not helping the image. I'd like for him to keep the sleeves down during WWDC just to keep our attention off his health, after all it IS HIS business - and he's very competent to run Apple.

speaking of flash....

I went to that site to watch the videos, which are also flash, and the dang thing keeps freezing up on me! and my internet ain't slow either!!

I was just about to watch one of these clips, but.....

Am I blind or is there no full screen option on the video? I'm not seeing it.

If somebody has better eyesight than I do, then let me know where the full screen option is! I'm not a fan of watching tiny, small videos on big monitors.
:)

I can APPLE and + a few times to make it bigger, but that has it's limits.

A few comments on Jobs last night.

While he was saying that Apple doesn't use or add technology that is on a "downswing," Walt should have asked why the "new" Macs use USB 2.0. We all know USB 2.0 is on the "downswing."

Another thing is the arrogance that Jobs thinks someone should make a "movie" out of the "stolen out of a bag" iPhone. His employee was drinking beer at a bar and now there's a "debate" as to whether it was actually "stolen?" Say what?

Apple doesn't work in "committees" they break into "teams."

SJ's assessment on AT&T doing "pretty good actually" is nothing but the common Jobs ignoring the truth when he cannot hold AT&T accountable and publicly bash them because they signed a long-term contract keeping the iPhone locked into AT&T in the US. I certainly believe if Apple could do it, it would already be on Verizon. The contract with AT&T was a gigantic mistake, and I certainly think he should admit it.

The new news on AT&T changing iPad terms seems like it was always planned that way. AT&T promised the first million 3G iPad customers "true" unlimited and then pulled a fast one... Jobs should certainly comment on why this is acceptable behavior from his sole carrier's US policies for bait and switch scheme. It is certainly disappointing.

Last thing... do we all really believe it was SJ that said "we can make a phone with this thing" when he was talking about the original tablet project? Is it always SJ that has the great idea? It seems that in D3 Walt and the other interviewer were asking SJ why he doesn't have an iPhone/iPod. Did maybe EVERYONE else tell SJ this before he came up with his epiphany?

Just curious what everyone else thinks about these topics?

1. I can only think there are still a ton of products that still support usb 2.0 and since 3.0 was released there isn't a lot of products for it. Or they are going to be supporting IBM's new product.

2. I took this more as tongue and cheek. Hence the "sex" comment. Also wasn't it discussed plenty of threads about the stolen. Heck look at the affidavit that was posted.

3. Ok

4. I agree. But why would he say he is wrong? They have sold tons of phones. Once the contract goes out they will move along. I hope anyways.

5. The news about the iPad and AT&T just came out. This was after the interview.

6. I doubt we will ever know if it was his or not. I am sure there are plenty of ideas that have come out of the Apple camp. Not all of them are his, but we won't know if it was really his idea or not.

and you would have sold one every two seconds if it had flash and one every second if it also had a camera

And your opinion is based on what?

While he was saying that Apple doesn't use or add technology that is on a "downswing," Walt should have asked why the "new" Macs use USB 2.0. We all know USB 2.0 is on the "downswing."

I'd say that is a misunderstanding on your part, and that it is deliberate. Steve Jobs didn't say anything about _using_ technology, he talked about investing development time. USB 2.0 costs no development time at all, and 99% of all users are happy having it. Making Flash run on the iPad would have meant enormous development time, and 99% of all users are unhappy with it on the Mac, and would have been even unhappier on the iPad. The bloody video where he talks about Flash plays in 400 x 280 pixels and takes 70% CPU time on my Mac; that is just ridiculous!

According to the twitter stream of a guy who works at All Things D (@ JohnPaczkowski), the full interview should be posted on Monday.
