100% agree with the battery health. My 14PM doesn't last a full day anymore. I almost exclusively wireless charge except with im in the car and have my phone plugged in for carplay. Battery health is 89%. I do also wish Dynamic Island was utilized more.

A common theme I hear with people that have battery issues with their iPhone 14 Pro max is that they use wireless charging regularly. I think that wireless charging negatively impacts the battery health/life of the phone. I had my 14 pro max since launch day never used wireless charging and my battery is still at 100% almost a year later. I also can get a solid day and a half still my phone. But to be honest, I am not a super heavy user that takes photos and video every hour of every day or play games for long periods of times on my phone etc. So needless to say, coming from the 11 pro max to the 14 pro max has been pretty solid for me.

You just answered your question. Anything that gets widespread notice and acclaim also produces detractors.
I didn’t actually ask a question, I just made a statement. I’ve been intrigued about Dynamic Island, but don’t have a 14, so I can’t form any judgement. It’s just a feature I was really excited to see, and disappointed to hear so many complaints a year later. I guess the same goes for stage manager on iPadOS.

I had instant regret buying the Max. It's way too freaking heavy. Definitely going smaller next time, even if the camera is lesser, but even that's not a perfect fix. I'm fine compromising on thinness these days, but I'm tired of compromising on lightness. There has to be a better way...
It’s gon be lighter due to titanium, I would say that would be a better way for weight

Can we all agree saying dynamic island is cringe as #%}^?
I thought Dynamic Island was cool. 🏝️

I think some people just let their batteries drain too far. I’ve been using wireless charges every night for a few years now on my phones without issue. My 14 pro max is still at 100% health and I use a MagSafe every night. I also get great battery life, but I make sure to keep it above 40%.

My 13 PM had 98% health when I gave it to my wife and now it’s at 87% less than a year later. She only uses wired charging but constantly drains the battery down into the red.

I have been pleased with my 14 Pro Max. Yes the battery do not last the whole day if I’m using it heavily, but that is also why I carry a portable charger with me.
Mine has been great still at 98 percent health which just dropped in last couple weeks from 100 percent. Normal use for me and i am at 60 to 75 percent or more today was on for couple hours solid and am at 72 percent at 4 PM but never go below 60 percent on most days when I put on the apple wireless charging puck. I see no reason as I have said elsewhere to move to the 15 Pro line gonna keep my 14 another year and wait on rumored camera improvements in the 16 pro line

Devastating review, honestly!!

- Dynamic island is lipstick on the pig, no one really uses it. It only bloats the system and adds complexity.
- Battery life is underwhelming, such things have to offer 1-2days without even thinking about it.
- Overheating, are you kidding me? The old Apple problem, once again.

With all of this, I‘m quite happy with my 11pro - thought about switching to the 15pro, but after this review, I‘m frightened.

It’s been great overall (owner of 14PM) I did notice that my battery health is down to 91% and it’s not even a year yet. Apple told me 80% or more is considered healthy but I know for a fact older models I owned (I have owned all iPhones) retained battery capacity after a year around 95%.

Those owners with a 14PM and battery life above 97% I would be curious if your charging habits. I never let my phone drain fully, and I rarely keep it charged after reaching 100%. I use fast chargers from Anker and Apple Duo Wireless Charger as my main chargers. I also have a 30W usb c port in my car I frequently use to charge.

Overall it’s a killer phone and the 15 doesn’t seem to offer a lot over this model. I always usually turn my phone in and get the new model but this year (and for the first time ever) I may keep my current version as the iPhone 16 is shaping up to be a killer update.

I'm already at 93% in less than a year.

I’m much the same. My partner has a 12, regularly runs it to the point it switches off. Her battery health is 87%, only about 18 months old. However, my 12 Pro had terrible battery life-I sold that after 2 years and its battery health was at 81%. I’m a light/casual user.

I have a 14PM, it was replaced under AC+ between Christmas Day/New Year and my battery is still at 100%. I could almost get two days out of it, but it doesn’t always quite make it to bedtime the second day. I use a slow wireless charger every night, and my percentage is usually between 40-45% when I do this. Even on iOS 17 Beta it’s hitting the same levels.

To those worrying about battery performance, our household experiences with a 12/12 Pro battery have not been great. My experience with my 14PMax has been brilliant. I’m not one to get seriously hooked on my gadgets, but do love this phone. It is weighty, but not that much-I don’t really notice it now.

I wouldn’t splash out for one now, but if any are in the market post-15 release, it’s a hell of a phone.
