No kidding, these people are acting like Apple expected to sell 100s of millions of Vision Pros and have failed. They never intended that. You can argue they shouldn’t be releasing developer quantity units and expecting developers to drop everything and make software for it. While taking 15% of sales too. They were all priced <$1k. Apparently that matters a lot.

Not all of them - Apple didn't even sell a million iPods in the first year of availability. I believe it was around 600k.Nothing like any of those products honestly.
They all sold more than a million in their first quarter of availability.
True. They were all useful aswell.
I've demoed Vision Pro twice. Came away thinking it could be extremely useful. At $3,500? Not that useful yet. That's how demand curves work.True. They were all useful aswell.

Might be something about the 390+ billion in revenue last year but I'm not sure.
If they continue to grow and post record profits every year, I think investors might think someone is doing something right.

The iPod that pretty much obsoleted crappy mp3 players (RIP brown Zune) overnight?Like iPod... (who asked for a thousand songs in your pocket?)
iPhone with a non-mechanical keyboard (who asked for that?)
iPad... it's just a big iPhone (nobody asked for that)
Watch... who asked for that? If I want to know the time, I'll just look at my iPhone.

It's hard to argue with success!
The iPod that pretty much obsoleted crappy mp3 players (RIP brown Zune) overnight?
The iPhone's virtual keyboard (along with iOS) that was the death knell for the Blackberry (RIP RIM)?
The iPad that was immediately lauded by medical and aviation professionals, you mean?
The Apple Watch that gave Cook the only standing ovation of his life?
All of these first gen Apple products sold like hotcakes, as have successive generations. Ask your average Joe on the street if he remembers the AVP a year later, and at best you'll get "oh yeah, I vaguely remember that visor thing".
Um, so if you hate what Apple has become, doesn't that just mean Apple? Or just specifically Tim Cook? Confused.Wrong. The hate is exclusively reserved for what they’ve become under Cook’s “leadership”.
agree, but please not let it be the visionOS guy, he's now apparently too busy trying to ship Siri incomplete as well.Someone else needs to take over iPadOS.
Will there? Developers aren't exactly clamouring to develop for the AVP, and why would they when sales have been poor and not even a whiff of a 2nd gen/consumer production model in the works. Like most consumers, I'm not averse to the AVP, but think I would struggle to find a compelling use case for it even if it was significantly cheaper. There will be follow-ons, at prices targeted to regular consumers.
Correlation does not imply causation.
If it really was a clusterf*** by JG, then you'd hope or even expect Cook to fire him. That he didn't, and gave him a nicely cushioned sideways move, speaks volumes. Fire him when everyone and their dog knows the Siri failures are systemic and long-term with Federighi and Cook even more complicit, and Apple would deservedly face a wrongful dismissal claim. Instead, he's been sat down and told he's having to take one for the leadership team but not to worry as they'll "see him right".Sure, Gruber cried for Giannandrea's Head and Cook delivered. Even if it didn't look like it was Giannandrea's fault and there are deeper, structural problems why Siri went nowhere since it's launch. Siri is exemplary, but it's far from the only symptom.
Yes, they’re continuing to release tons of new features with each OS update, pump out content, partnering with companies to create 3D cameras, reportedly working with Sony on gaming controllers, and allegedly talking to sports leagues about 3D broadcasting rights. They wouldn’t be doing all of this if a $3500 device was the end all and be all of what they were going to release. Will there? Reportedly Craig was the one saying “this isn’t ready to demo” and got shot down. And Teflon Craig survives yet again!

I applaud your faith, but in recent times, Apple has canned the built-in TV, quit the autonomous Car, even stalled CarPlay 2.0, and has spent the past decade to achieve the unthinkable and actually make Siri worse. Then again, they couldn't even manage a 3-way charging mat, so maybe we shouldn't be surprised.
