Just curious what everyone has ordered (or planning on ordering) as far as color. I've been enjoying my Space Gray 2019 16" MacBook Pro and I ordered the same color in 14" M1 Pro! Can't wait for it to arrive!

Silver for a change (like the iPad Pro) as it seems like I've been buying space grey stuff for as long as I can remember. I think the silver makes a nice contrast with the black keyboard surround.

Space gray, but the color really doesn’t matter to me since I always use dbrand skins—usually titanium since it has texture, and it is purely a safety precaution that helps me have a firmer grip.

Does Apple usually change the shade of silver and space gray between each generation? The marketing photos of the space gray new MacBook Pro look lighter than previous years so I am wondering if the space gray this generation will be lighter or the same space gray as usual.

Usually I would pick space grey without a second thought but I've had a few Space Grey MacBook Pros throughout this Touch Bar generation. I'm ready for something fresh going into this new generation. Plus the silver kinda reminds me of my very first MacBook, the 2013 MacBook Pro retina. Good times.

I'm going 16" silver 32 core GPU, 32gb RAM, 1tb SSD. My first time going with a higher spec model.

If I were ordering, I would go back to Silver, already have a Space Gray MBP M1. But, I must be honest, it seems to look nicer in Space Gray based on that leaked video.

I was actually wondering the same thing. It could also just be the lighting of the photos they have for it. I did notice that in the leaked video, it looks the same as the older space gray.

Witch one dissipate heat best? Likely the silver. Black keyboard will stand out rather strongly on the silver.

I ordered Space Grey. I’ve only ever had silver MBs, but I don’t know if another color has been available since I last bought a machine.

I went grey due to the black keyboard tray. I am hopeful the SG deemphasizes that particular design choice.

Having worked as a Color Matcher for an automotive paint manufacturer that had almost 20 years of experience that color is subjective. It is almost hard to make the exact same shade of color exactly between batches. My guess is every time a new model or even the product line is announce there is a new batch of space gray that is made. Everything now is probably done with computers and in this case it's probably an X-Rite (or Macbeth) that matches the paint to the OEM standard. A human with a good color eye could probably dial it in closer, but I would doubt Apple and most companies would go through the bother in doing that. (Probably why I was laidoff ?) You also have to take in consideration when the picture was taken and lighting of the room can make it appear lighter.

I think both colours are pretty.
Personally, I am going with silver simply because I find the surface finish on the Space Gray can be a bit more delicate and I like to keep my laptops for a long time.

Question for those who have owned the "space gray" color:
How has it "held up" with usage and the passing of time?

I've always had the "plain aluminum" finish, seems to hold up reasonably well, but I'd like to try the space gray this time...
