True, but you could always just use a Space Grey type skin on the palm rest part to preserve it while enjoying the aesthetic of Space Grey all over the rest of the device.OFC but it loses colour over time...
So far none of my space gray items (iPhones, iPads, MacBooks) lost color.OFC but it loses colour over time...
I had some silver MBP and I have used space grey since 2017. Your point is very interesting, I was thinking about a lot but I don't remember that the colour change caused any distraction or I felt any advantage at photo or video editing. Now I plan change back again to silver thanks to that the full black keyboard is too dark and too gloomy with the grey topcase (I use my MBP in officework, presentations, and photo-video editing). In my opinion the Apple products have to represent functionality and unique design both, and the new "retro" direction is more elegant in silver. But thanks for your aspect!I've always chosen space gray ever since the color was made available due to space gray being closer to neutral contrast level.
It's easier on my eyes and less distracting when working on Photoshop.
High contrast colors will throw off your eyes when working with colors even off-screen colors affect the way our eyes perceive color. Anything to minimize color distraction helps with work.
It was no problem with space grey for me so far (daily use since 2018).Question for those who have owned the "space gray" color:
How has it "held up" with usage and the passing of time?
I've always had the "plain aluminum" finish, seems to hold up reasonably well, but I'd like to try the space gray this time...
Yeah the all-black keyboard really is making me consider silver again - the previous design 16" looked weird to me in silver, so I stuck with space gray for the last 2 generations. Now I'm debating if I want to return the SG one I just received without opening and wait for the silver, or stick with SG.I had some silver MBP and I have used space grey since 2017. Well, there are some metals that are not silver in their natural form, like copper or gold.to me silver is not even a colour. it is natural appearance of any metal only.
They were silver-only; no space gray were available until towards 2014-ish.I went with silver. I was going to say for the first time since 2008 - but what color did the 2011/2012 mbps come in? lol
Good. No issues, no scratches. No wear so far.Question for those who have owned the "space gray" color:

Yeah...man...just ordered yesterday. It will look goofy..Just a heads up for those getting Space Grey, it comes with a silver MagSafe connector so it doesn't match.
