To those who asked, including N would not speed up the internet, and would only be good for viewing video files stored remotely on the local network (aka appleTV) it would not be usefull for the iphone at all, and would decrease battery life.

Does anyone else think it is cheeky that the dock includes a section for the bluetooth headset, but the headset is not included. If you don't buy it your dock looks silly and off centre, so people are more likely to fork out the money!

Language's?

Hi does anyone here heard anything about which language the phone comes with?
And, and this is very important for me, how to changes language when writing on the inteligent keyboard? in sms or in mail mode.
I looked through demo videos and tech sheets, and can see any kind of option bottom etc.
As you can see, english is not my native, so i want it to write or be inteligent to more than just one language.

I like Motorolas phone only for that, one single press on a tap and you have another language...

thanks

That's not true. The dock w/ the iPhone is just for the iPhone.

The bluetooth headset, however, comes with a new dock with places for both.

See the "update" here:

I was also thinking about this... hope they include other languages. I DO think spanish (at least) will be included, since well after all, there are a lot of spanish speakers in the US. Also, iPhone runs OSX and well OSX has a lot of languages.

Will you be able to charge the iPhone with the old Firewire cable wall charger?

what about sim?

Does not say about sim card.. i ve been wondering about it... it should be listed as "in the box"

Ask a stupid question but what benefits would this offer? I get a work phone from time to time but don't do anything particularly exciting apart from make calls.

For people wanting to access their internal networks (e.g., for email or internal web sites) while away from work, VPN provide for secure access. For many businesses, this is the only way they allow remote employees to access their networks.

yes, i read that also.. but... in the iphone as in "already placed inside for your convenience" or just in there somewhere that you can' t access, so you can just screw yourself if you were thinking you could get out of att.?

Not really an issue for me, since i dont live in the states.. but i reallywanted to get myself one once i could be unlocked, but without sim card, it could be hard.. well i guess we will have to wait till friday

well the VPN thing leads me to believe that one of the empty spaces in the apps window will soon be occupied by a "back to my mac" widget for .mac subscribers (arghhh!) -- coupled with quick look which we already know exists on the iphone it's going to be awesome. i can't tell you the number of times i've been away from my main computer and wanted something. i used to web share my drive, but that got dangerous.

scenario one: you're out to lunch with your boss when you get an urgent call asking about figures for last quarter. well no need to cancel lunch; hold the call, wifi + back-to-my-mac + quick look and "boom" you've got the answer.

scenario two: you're out in NY for a big sales pitch and on the way to the meeting you drop and destroy your laptop. no, problem back-to-my-mac, locate the keynote preso and upload to your iphone (nice accessory: av cable/keynote presenter)

scenario three: you're over at your parents home for the holidays and you want to show them this great photo set of the grand kids, but oops you forgot to synch the phone.

now throw in third-party development and oh boy! imagine a client tells you they went to make changes to a web site and it screwed everything up. you're out of town and don't have access to a computer. back-to-my-mac, find the last SVN repo and then use panic's transmit widget to upload the rolled back version.

I have a Dell XP and MSN (although I do have both cable broadband and DSL as a back-up) at home.

Question: Does anyone know how I can sync my MSN email and address book and bookmarks onto the Iphone? Do I have do something with Outlook Express first?

Thanks!

Suggestions, anyone? Please.....

- 4 Digit Password can be used to protect iPhone

Yes, but it only asks for the password when turned on or resuming from sleep. If the phone is up & running, and you lose it, the person who finds your phone has total access to your calendar and email. And this is a Bad Thing (tm).

In our company we have set our phones so that they are automatically locked if not used for five minutes. That way the calendar and email are safe. Since iPhone lacks this feature, it's a no-go at our company. Or at least, it could not be used for work-email or calendar. Also, if the phone is lost, we can remotely format the phone. It seems that this is not possible with the iPhone.

You work for MI6?:D

If I have a home computer (MAC) and a work computer (PC) and I want to sync calendars and address books back and forth, I'm assuming I'm not going to be able to do this even though it's a cross platform device. If you activate it on a Mac, I'm sure you can pull information from other macs, but I wondered if it was a similar situation (as with the iPOD) where you can only use one platform at a time... hmmm

I'll wait for HUMAN reviews before I shell out the bucks.

I've got the same dilema. I will need to sync with Outlook on my work PC, but all my music, videos, etc. are on my Mac at home.
