I really am trying to get excited about the goggles, but this doesn’t help. No offense to the developer. Anything short of moving around the Enterprise-D in VR probably will be a pass for me.
But if they do release a Trek title, then take my money. 🤓🖖

I say that because I can’t think of anything else that would entice me.

Funny you should say that...because there is a VR Star Trek game: Star Trek Bridge Crew. The Tutorial mission is literally you and your teammates in the Kobayashi Maru scenario

What a dumb looking game. If thats a headline app for this headset, I'll make a hard pass.
Come to think of it, I never gave a **** about their stupid headset anyway ...
VR (even more so than regular gaming) requires playing to judge any game fairly. This game is both relaxing and energetic and loads of fun. It might not be a system-selling title for $3k but it is for PSVR. You're missing out.

Anyone got a headache or motion sickness..? I think it's going to take some time to get used to this AR/VR. Maybe it's different when you are in the game.

It is. It is vastly different. When you're wearing the headset you acclimate to your surroundings and it becomes more natural. It's why we recommend people start with experiences like Beat Saber to help them gain their "VR Legs"

Wait...so Beat Games is owned by...Meta?
Beat Sabre
Interesting.

Yes Beat Saber was made by Beat Games who were bought by Meta (or the company formerly known as Oculus) last year. And despite this, Meta still releases Beat Saber on all platforms, because it is too big to be kept exclusive, just like when Microsoft bought Minecraft they port it to all platforms instead of keeping it exclusive to Xbox and PC.

Ok.. This is a much better view. Thank you for posting this :)

If you need a VR mentor let me know I'm more than happy to help newcomers adjust to being in VR as it seems daunting at first until you remember: It's not real. Once you remember that your brain will adjust and get much more comfortable (unless the game/experience is too immersive lmao)

but Beck does not regularly tweet about Apple
Several of his twitter posts show his Macs.
He has YouTube videos showing his process of making his songs on Macs.
The studio he was part of made iOS games before Beat Saber.

He’s a wealthy Apple fan who is interested in VR. I think that’s the most likely explanation for his Tweet.

Beat Saber for Apple's platform is just speculation at this point, but Beck does not regularly tweet about Apple, and would seemingly have no reason to comment on the event.

He's a high-profile free-agent in the VR industry (no longer works for Beat Games / Meta), and the biggest consumer electronics company in the world is getting into his industry. Debates over social media aside, why wouldn't he comment on it?

What's "daunting"? Put it on. If it's a lousy design it will suck. If it's good it should be easy.

You know I find it funny that the majority of people here in MacRumors, the most hardcore Apple fans around, are so against the idea of an Apple VR headset, meanwhile the VR community (a community that primarily uses PC and Android since the Quest 2 uses Android 12) are the ones most excited about Apple making a headset, even begging Apple to make a headset.

Well good thing you don’t need one. There’s other headsets available like the Pico 4, HP Reverb G2, Bigscreen Beyond, and hopefully the Apple Reality if it has PCVR compatibility
They all run Star Trek Bridge Crew? I never researched it much. I saw Facebook and kept going.
was it ported to other platforms or do the ones you mentioned run the same OS?
