I'm old, but I'm definitely curious; however, I see the application as limited. It's very much for a focused group of users.
Games appear to be the key mass group here, specifically in flight and racing simulators, but Beat Saber is a nice innovation that I've seen before for the VR space.
I also see a niche application for eCommerce; however, it's more a novelty. Amazon uses AR to simulate what items look like when they are placed in a room, for example, plus they can even simulate what shoes look like on you. It's quite clever, but definitely a novelty.
There's also the whole metaverse thing, but I find it weird and also very niche. I cannot imagine that going mainstream.
The reality is, VR headsets have been around for years now, but as humans, we like interacting with real beings. I don't ever foresee VR headsets becoming the norm and adopted by a mass market. The pandemic was a great example of that. Initially, people loved remote working, but soon the craving to return to a more hybrid work model crept back in. People need physical and real contact with others.
I don't think it'll be a success, but who am I to say? It'll still be interesting...
