Can someone please answer this definitively?

I have three lines on my family plan. None of them are due for an upgrade til late Dec. We purchased three new iPhone 6 + full price. So when I login to my verizon account, it says on all three lines "you have a device waiting to be activated."

Two of the three of us know we want the new 6+. The third knows she does NOT want one and is keeping her 5s. We bought one of each color (two from Apple, one from Verizon.) We plan on choosing the two colors we like best, and either returning the other one or selling it to a friend (who is NOT on our family plan.) Selling just to get money back, not for profit!

So my question is..... if we sell one of the phones, and the friend activates on their account, will that message fall off of our 3rd line (the 'you have a device waiting to be activated' message)?

I sold my 5s several weeks ago in preparation for this, and so I know how easy it is to just swap sims at will. But when I asked this same question at my local Verizon store the other day, I was met with blank stares and finally the answer of "well if you give that phone to your friend, the number goes with it." I KNOW this is wrong, they are clueless.

Has anyone done this before? Again, none of these were subsidized upgrades on the lines. Full price paid for each phone.

Thank you to anyone who can help set my mind at ease! I've asked my question in several threads b/c I don't want to start a brand new one and get flamed for it! LOL.

Can everyone who is setting a FedEx delivery today please post if you have a delivery time of 8pm? Does anyone have a delivery earlier from Fedex?

Mine shows a 3PM delivery.

Not sure about opening it until I've got a case though. Seeing that news clip of the guy in Australia dropping his phone right out of the box was scary.

Mine has been on the truck since 7:42am. Still waiting for FedEx (in Orlando, FL btw).

I have to go to work at 3:15pm, so if it doesn't come by then it gets delivered to my front desk, which opens too late for me to get it before work tomorrow. So if it doesn't come by 3, I won't get it till tomorrow at 5 :(

Went to my local Verizon on an off chance they had a i6P SG, they didn't of course. While standing in line some poor guy came out literally Crying. They would not sell or upgrade his phone because he was overdue on his monthly bill. and he only get paid once a month. LOL. I thought I was going to witness a full on "Nut up" but he just sold his place in line to someone else for $10 and left. Another person that was waiting for a 6+ about 45 peeps ahead of me got the bad new that they didn't have any. Now I glad I have a preorder. :) it may be a couple of week, but I will get one:D

oh damn thats funny. some people really need to get their priorities straight.

had a delivery exception that said it missed the courier truck...but 15 minutes later, it left on a truck. (although Fedex site, as usual, didn't show this for over a half hour...)

and amazingly, it just arrived!

seems Fedex has a lot of special truck runs today, it took only 35 minutes to go from the dispatch center to my home which is not typical. they are making special runs today.

it should, they just need their old sim or a new one from Verizon. And since you paid full retail it won't mess with your upgrades.

I know that message was gone from my account. I upgraded two lines and when I logged on after I received the new phones it wasn't showing the waiting to be activated message anymore. I just swapped my sim from my 5s to the 6. My account reflects the new 6 on my line and everything else is as it should be. Comsidering the line I the 6 is on now isn't the one that I upgraded on, and everything on my account is back to normal, you should be fine selling the extra one without issue.

I am porting my number from Sprint. I preordered on 9/12 and am trying to activate my new phone, but now they're saying it won't port until 9/26!!!! When I ordered this new line (porting old number), I had to enter all my Sprint info, and this was a week ago. Why is this happening and how do I fix it! I don't want to wait a week! Help!

Stupid thing was shipped FedEx Express which is different than FedEx Ground. Guess who just came to my townhouse complex and got me excited? Yep. FedEx Ground.... Dammit.

Mines stuck in LA. At a "destination sorting facility". I live about 4 hours from LA. Hope it's coming today. I have a delivery estimate of 9/19

slight sidebar, but I can't be the only one that laughs at Verizon's homepage. "Buy Now" really? no one can get one for almost a month buying today...stupid. Should have just left it at pre order or something.

At least you can be excited to see Fed EX....I just checked my status, and the expected ship date is 10/17. I ordered it on 9/12....but I had to accept terms and conditions.....which I didn't do until 9/16........ So I wont be seeing mine for a while! :(

Perspective

I have been lurking in this thread and have found it quite entertaining. Thanks. Preordered a 16gb 6+ gold, cancelled the order yesterday (concerned 16gb wasn't enough after iOS8) and ordered a 64gb 6+. The one person who will get their phone sooner because of my cancelled order does not need to thank me.)

Some perspective:

1) It is a phone.

2) This is not some vast conspiracy on the part of Apple, Verizon and the other carriers to make us miserable. Production issues (especially for the 6+) have been rumored since July and were confirmed this week.

3) Take it easy on the customer service reps. They are getting bombarded. They want you to get your phone so you'll go away. No one can ship what they do not have.

4) They will ship them as soon as they have them. I suspect after today we'll see some movement.

And if you think life is bad at Verizon, wander on over to the other carriers threads, especially AT&T.

And to those who have kept perspective with humor, thanks.

Well looks like I'll get it sometime next week possibly. Still sitting in Memphis on it's way to Albuquerque, NM. Fedex says still deliver by 3pm today but that's not happening. Would just like an update on when to expect it.

So well said. :apple:

Pick up my two iPhone 6+ 64gbs first thing this morning using "will call pickup" at my local UPS service center. There were only 5 people ahead of me, quick and easy... no waiting for the delivery truck.

Phone looks, feels and performs awesome!

Sucks

Me and my wifes are showing arrived at Hillside Illinois location since 4:42AM, Not showing Out for Delivery...WTF, then it changed from delivery by 3PM to 8PM ???

Mine was delivered around an hour and a half ago. It is definitely a lot bigger than my iPhone 5 but I think 4.7" is a good size. I am still not convinced I could deal with the 6 Plus though. The 6 is plenty big enough for anything I could possibly want to use my phone for.

It feels really slick and like it would be easy to drop. The camera being raised is going to take some getting used to. I already had it hang up on my mousepad while trying to slide it.

I ran GeekBench and it shows 988 MB of RAM

1575 single core
2835 multi core

It feels significantly faster than the 5
