True. I know that sucks. I'm very impatient especially in this case where I am stuck and can't do a thing about it.

If your credit card has not been charged, and it has not yet shipped, canceling is no problem.
I heard somewhere that Verizon extended the date to return devices until December 1st because of the preorder delays. Anyone else hear this?
Changed Pre-Order: 6+ to 6.
I just called customer care and changed my pre-order from the 6+ to the regular 6. As gorgeous as the 6+ may be, I'm just not ready to commit to a phablet yet.
I began being POSITIVE the 4.7" regular iPhone 6 was ideal.
Then I saw the demo units and drooled over the 6+. Didn't take long to convince myself that the 6+ was the one I simply had to have.
My pre-order had a late-October shipping/delivery date which game me time to equivocate, and I took full advantage of this. Several trips to both a Verizon store and and Apple Store, fondling both models of the iPhone.
In the end, I realized the way I use my mobile invalidates the advantages of the larger 6+ in my case. So I'm back to where I started when the rumors and leaks about the iPhone 6/6+ all began. I'm getting the 6.

Registered just for a FYI...my VZ order ship date for the 6+ was Oct. 24...but checking online at http://store.apple.com/us/buy-iphone/iphone6 I was able to grab a 6+ today and is ready for local pickup from the apple store. I was checking the site every hour as they seem to updated it as stock comes in-out.
I called verizon before doing this and they said they will be able to cancel my pre-order.

What I was told (and they set me up for at a corporate store) is that the trade in request must be made before September 30, but the device itself (the old iPhone) does not need to be returned until Dec 1.

That VZ Rep needs to read there own site. You have until 9/30/2014 to purchase an iPhone 6/6+ and register your phone to the trade-in program. You Then have 7 days from the time you RECEIVE you new phone or 12/1/2014 at the latest to have you phone mailed in to verizon postmarked. your $200 is reduced drastically after that.
Yeah I see there are some pluses available in that zip code, right on for you congrats! I only saw the ones in silver available but hey better than nothing.
Over here in the Bay Area, in California there is no pluses available anywhere and it looks like space grey is the most elusive (which of course is the color I want). What time did your Apple store inventory update today?
Yea, I wanted the white/silver so I lucked out.
The inventory seems like it's being updated pretty frequently, mine updated btwn 2pm-3pm, but during the day I kept checking and other stores (which are not close to me at all) had their inventory updated as well earlier to "Available".

Now that's what I call a grand epiphany! Now we resume our regular scheduled programming. Life.

Just venting - its maddening to see my 6+ shipped on Friday eve and has been sitting in Memphis all day - sent Fedex Ground.

Just got home from Target. While we were there I figured I might as well stop in at the electronics department. I asked the sales guy if they had any of the new iPhones. He had a big grin and said they just received a bunch this morning. He opened a cabinet and there must have been at least 50 boxes. At least 20 were pluses. Only downside was they were all 16GB.
