Yes, it does make sense to do 2 big shipments a month. I would hope/imagine this should get everyone's order through mid to late month this month. The 14th shipment, if true..lol, should take the rest of late oct and into mid nov.
Oh, and someone asked, Memphis is Fedex's big hub and verizon has a huge storage area there. *Distribution center*

Which iPhone 6 Plus did you order (color/size)? I ordered a 128GB Space Gray Plus on the 18th and I'm at a 10/31 ship date. Yours was only 4 days ahead of mine so I'm wondering if that means mine may ship with the supposed shipment of phones coming in today.

iPhone 6 Plus, silver 64G. Pre-ordered on the 12th around 10:30 am

Yes.

None of these flights here: http://flightaware.com/live/iphone/ are going to the Verizon facility and they don't display any of the Fed EX flights.

Based on the link I displayed it appears Verizon only got iphone shipments on the 19th, 24th,25th,26th of September..October 1st and October 2nd. This lines of perfectly with the shipping waves we've been seeing. And can explain the gaps between the 29th and the 1st, when we were seeing no movement at all.

From my understanding, based on others experiences, when the ship by date magically disappears, that means you're about to be processed and your device shipped.

Hi there, and thank you for your feedback.
Actually thought, I have not seen a shipping date ever.
Basically, the only reason I know it is supposed to ship by 10/24 is because the original email VZW sent me says that. The order status page on Verizon's website has never shown a shipping date and has only ever shown that the order is processing. I don'g get it. Heh

I went with the 16 g plus sg. 9/20 order date. Tried to order way before but area I was working in had me no signal or internet. I was about to change my order to a 64g. Wish would have changed it because buddy I know already has his. Wtf and he ordered after? Btw I still got my 10/24 ship by crap. but my mid next week I hope I get some change. Apple stores are no where even close to drive. So that's out. Waiting, but not patient. Ha hurry Verizon. I don't need your pamphlet put in my box. Just ship it to me!!!

I can has tracking!!!!

For those wondering

6+ 64GB SG (x3)
Ordered: 9/12 @9AM
Orig: 10/21 Mod: 10/17

The UPS flights on flightaware are shipping to Louisville, Kentucky. That is the location of their "WorldPort" and the natural location for any iphone 6 shipments to enter to the US. It doesn't necessarily mean they aren't for Verizon, UPS will distribute them further along once they arrive there. Its possible the phones shipping to customers from Pennsylvania arrived there via UPS. It's hard to know exactly which phones are on which flights, if there is any correlation at all. Its just a good sign seeing many flights from both carriers being delivered.

This may be true, however, it appears that Verizon is using FedEx for all of their iphone shipments, even ones coming from outside of the country. It could also very well be that the shipments are redirected and instead of going to Kentucky are redirected to Memphis. As I said previously, the only real way to really know what is the case if someone reports the routes theyre seeing via their tracking info.

edit / And since this is all best guesstimate, I could very well be wrong and a percentage could be coming from Fed Ex, and some from UPS. Who truthfully knows... Just looking at trends.

Yes they typically are shipping Fedex. As a whole its nice to see so many flights coming to the US, as it will help the entire backlog of phones no matter the service provider which helps us all. It's especially good with the fact that many are staying right in China to support their orders, (2 million in the first 6 hours and preorders aren't even "open"). UPS already has more flights showing up for tonight, and its been between 7-9 each night recently. Thats a lot of phones::D

Are you going to get a case for it? If so the question comes down to whether you can live with a white face.

Yeah I've already ordered and received my case for the phone. Think I'm going to just stick it out and wait for the Space Gray; screen just looks like it flows better with the body. OCD and first world problems......#

Very very true!

I wonder how many iphone 6/6+s Apple has sold till this date. It must be astronomical. Regardless if they're getting good or bad press, its still going to bring a lot of sales.

So if you guys are getting your ordereds placed the week of the 12th this week maybe us that ordered week of 19th get them shipped next week

Let it be true. Still think they are all over the wall with the "line" of orders. I've seen 6plus 64 ordered after 20th and already in possession.

You guys must be luckier than me. I've talked to 2 reps and both told me there is no such thing as a confirmation or reference number. *sigh*

I found the reps on chat to be worse than the ones at 611. It's probably best to call.

First one I had seemed like computer and wasn't answering any questions I had. Second I had literally had it in less than five minutes. Gives little extra Info with location and ability to cancel order.

Also yes if your order is before the 15th of this month. They have extended the trade in til dec 1st I do believe she said. Maybe 31st but definitely December. She said once phone is here I can just take old to verizon store and trade in.

I dont want to pee in your cheerios here, but I wouldnt get too excited. There are still plenty of us on the 12th that have nothing. Not to say we are in line in front of you, just saying that I dont think there is a method to any of this anymore. So, you might get lucky, but I am more mad every day because I used to think the same way 2 weeks ago haha

But, you might have better luck than me. If I didnt have bad luck I wouldnt have any luck at all. So good luck to you! I think its all just based on model, color, etc.

It is. If you ordered 128 or 16 I bet they will mostly come together even if jimbo ordered his 10 days before Lucy. They could care less when jimbo ordered. Also if Lucy's card is cleared quicker. More than likely the one paid for will be there first. Money money money.

I wish that were the case. I had it billed to account and they ASSURED ME (which means about as much as 3 eye lashes) that it wouldnt change anything and I begged them to put it on my credit card but they said they had to cancel the whole order when they did that.

As a bit of back story, they put it on my account because I ordered while I was in an airport so I didnt want to give my credit card number in a crowded terminal. Since Im from the South and it isnt on my credit card, I guess Im Jimbo :(

two large shipments a month makes sense, condenses your logistic costs. This may increase to weekly as Christmas approaches.
It depends on what you want to prioritize. From a statistical perspective, it's actually more efficient from a service time view to have smaller packages because they tend to have less aggregate service time than large packages, so more get through the queue (like a network, or a transportation system) than fewer large packages. (Queuing theory at work here.) That's why large packets are prioritized at the back of the network queue, to let all the smaller ones go through first.

So, it would be better for Apple to stream small shipments (if UPS and the like could handle that) instead of just bunching them up into much larger shipments. But, your point about cost is true, too. Many smaller packages would create replication of the service structures, and that could cost more. I just think that Apple would be better off to absorb those marginal cost increases and think about how to keep from pissing their customers off by making them wait for shipments like this.

6 plus 64gb gold verizon available at apple store

verizon 6 plus 64gb gold in durham, nc availble to pick up as of now.

Just curious about something... I originally ordered 64 GB gold 6 Plus at 3:45 am on the 12th and was given a shipping date of 10/7. I'm way too impatient for that and ended up going to the store on the 19th and getting my gold 128 GB Plus and canceling the pre-order. Curious as to what has happened with those who had that original shipping date of 10/7. Have you gotten your phones already? Are you still getting them by the 7th if you haven't? Or did your date get pushed back? Inquiring minds want to know! For me, the wait would have killed me, I love instant gratification so I had to go to the store that morning. It wasn't bad, got in line at 5 am and walked out of the store at 8:35!
