I ordered a iPhone 6, 64gb, space grey on September 22.
I ordered the same phone on 9/19 and I'm showing, "C" (Received, in process)... with a 10/17 ship date.

I'm feeling a little deflated that trying to decipher meaningful patterns from their shipping and fulfillment process. I'm glad you're phone is staged to go, but I wish that implied mine was too.. if there's a method to their madness, I'm not seeing it....

Alert issued by FedEx this morning:

FedEx experienced a wide band of severe thunderstorms last night at the FedEx Express Memphis Hub that affected our sort operations. We immediately implemented contingency plans to minimize the impact to our customers. We regret any inconvenience this has caused. Consistent with the provisions of the FedEx Service Guide, the money-back guarantee is not in effect for FedEx Express packages due for delivery on October 3, 2014.

Memphis is the initial landing/hub, right?

The only planes I know FOR SURE are carrying iphones are the ones here:

http://flightaware.com/live/iphone/

And a random AK to Ontario flight only b/c people on this forum have friends that work at the Ontario location which have confirmed the flight is for iphones.

See, the thing I've found with flightaware is that not ALL of the flights carrying iphones are shown here:
http://flightaware.com/live/iphone/

or archived properly--if that makes since.

Sometimes there are gaps where we can see planes going from one origin to a destination but not able to see the returning flights.

I AM, HOWEVER, 80% sure this flight is the main one (or ONE OF the main ones) supporting Verizon preorders: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/FDX9020

It coincidently started having routes Sept 19th, and has correlated with all of the Verizon shipping waves. Although I can see the planes route from Memphis to Anchorage, I can't see the returning. But that's what I was saying regarding flight aware.

They have been having 1 MD11 going from MEM to ANC, then I think to Shanghai and reversing back to MEM. Flt 9020 has been running bigger planes as well, and more often. I think any flight leaving china could have iPhones on there no doubt. My GUESS** is that the Pudong and Hong Kong direct flights to Memphis are the super suppliers. The stops through Anchorage should have some as well. I think the iPhone link you have is only set through UPS, I don't know If I have ever seen FDX planes on there, have y'all?

Yes.

Yeah. Preordering was a hassle. Like I said before it'll be my first and last time preordering. Next time I'm just going to wait it out until like December when I know there will be plenty of phones in stock. People who preordered shouldn't have to wait for 3-4 weeks for a phone they've already reserved, while other people can just walk right in and buy it first hand.

I could not agree with you more. I should have just waited it out. My Verizon store had 6 pluses in stock at launch day and sold out at lunch time. Never again will I ever preorder from Verizon again. I asked the store manager what was the point for the preorder if we can not get it on launch day or a few days later. He responded by saying that the preorder is for those who don't want to wait in line to get a phone on launch day and preordering the phone doesn't mean that we would get it any faster.

I called VZ and my 10/10 date changed today to 10/17. I just had them cancel that order and I was able to order from the Apple Store for pick-up so I am going to go pick up my 6+ after work! I still have another 10/24 pending order so I will be around for that as well. Im never pre-ordering from Verizon again. If my wife didnt love their service it would have been enough of a terrible experience to move to Sprint. I made sure to speak for all of us when I spoke to them on the phone and told them how much their business practices suck and that it was completely insane that I am going to be able to go buy the phone today without a pre-order when I ordered it 3 weeks ago. "Its all about the numbers..."

Looking on how the shipping waves have gone, only by judging what has been going on with the deliveries and such on this board, and looking at the dates on the flight history, IMO this is the BIGGEST driver of iPhones to verizon. Good news its running again, in route now, hope it keeps going every day.

Yes.

And no you're right. It is only UPS flights. But that's why I said, some of the other flights we've confirmed have been due to great investigative work and/or inside sources.

If they had it in stock at your local store you could have cancelled your pre-order and just bought it on-site. Only way that would not work is if it already shipped.

The thing that's killing me is I have to be at the store when they have stock thanks to the Apple Store only doing EDGE in person, so I have no way to reserve when I see it online. :(

Lucky! What is your original ship info and phone type?

Original ship date was 10/28 but bumped to 10/24. I ordered September 12th at 7:45PM. I ordered a 6+ Gold 64GB, but Verizon screwed up my order and sent me a 6+ Space Grey 64 GB.

Initially, I was annoyed, but at this rate and sad to say but I am just grateful to have a new phone as my current iphone is on its last wire.

I've decided not to send my iphone back and be thrown into the pool again.
I've tapped out of the game. If it were a 6, the exchange would be easy peasy but not for a 6+. Just not worth going through the exchange process.

So 3 weeks early. Awesome! I've got a 128GB SG 6 Plus on order with a ship date of 11/4 that was bumped to 10/31. Im hoping within the next week mine ships too. Sorry to hear they fudged your order. It would have been one thing to ship a silver instead of gold, but the space gray is entirely different.

The 6+ space gray phones were hard to find. I made the decision to cancel the preorder and get a silver 64Gb 6+ because I got tired of waiting for the Space Gray.

I got the same phone as you. Curious. What was your order date.

I'm perplexed too. Looking at the spreadsheet, there are people who ordered the exact same phone that I did, several days later than my launch day order.

They're getting 'shipping soon' status but I'm not. One person has even had theirs delivered already. I thought we'd get them all together.

I don't actually mind waiting at all but the charging socket on my 4S only works intermittently now and it's becoming a problem to me. I don't know whether I should buy a cheap emergency phone to keep me going until 10/24 or not.

I know! I feel bad b/c I have someones Space Grey when I wanted gold!

^^ exactly!

I ordered 10/1 and shipping date 10/31.
Called to cancel earlier this morning, they said can not because it is pending now. I can refuse the package or so.

6+ 64GB gold, device only, to NC

status online is same shipping date 10/31

what is pending meant? prepare to charge for shipping out?

You can't cancel an order that is being processed for shipping or currently shipping. You should have your phone by Tuesday(based on 2 day shipping policy).

My first order was Sep 21, and I canceled 5 days ago.
And, decided to pull the trigger again, then ordered on Oct 1….and now is shipping? wow….that is so quick. Its case is not here yet even I ordered it 10 days ago. Probably because I cancelled previous order….and this time goes faster :p
