Their lying to you. or at the very least have no clue. I got my phone a full 4 weeks before pre order delivery date which was 10/10. in the store on Sept. 22nd. The key is if they have charged you cc or not. if they did,
your stuck waiting or cancelling the order. I think with as many folks that cancelled their orders and got the phone locally, their probably tagging peeps cc's with $1 hold charge. Since they don't like to charge full price til the have your phone in the process of being shipped to you.
Same phone same ship date but I ordered on the 23rd which was the day the shipping estimate went from 10/31to 11/7 for that model.
Same as me, so only 10 business days. Hope mine takes that's long. I got the same phone as you.
Motley Fool is reporting Apple is slated to manufacture 100 Million iPhone this year - (yes - by end of 2014).

I'm making the switch from att to verizion. All I have is the order confirmation email as they said my account doesn't get created until I activate the phone. When checking the status it gives no real info. I hope I get it early so that I can take advantage of the data "deals" in October. Currently I'm in the 11/7 group.

I will say there is an extra flight or two that is running tonight, that haven't ran in like 3-5 days. Maybe there is extra precious cargo?
Congrats to everyone getting shipping!!! Man, no love on the 128 Space Grays Though? Went into the Verizon Store to see if they had any in and to my demise, NADA!! Got my fix though by playing around with the store models lmao!
If all I knew was my original ship date, I think I'd be more patient.
But then I look at the Googledoc spreadsheet & I let myself feel a little encouraged.. & I hear others getting their phones early.. I start to think I'm next.. but then I update my iconic look-up & its still the same original information over and over.. waiting isn't easy, huh?
