I use Jump on Demand from TMobile and don't worry about whether or not I'm upgrading, I just upgrade.
I have 6s waiting for my jet black plus to be delivered on Monday and for me that new home button, the water resistance, dual cameras, and wider color display is worth the upgrade!!!

LOL. You don't believe iPhone SE will be replaced with an all new 4-inch, or do really think the iPhone 5 shell will continue into a 4th and 5th series?

Also, from an environmental perspective, it is better to conserve resources and reduce pollution by extending the lifecycle of our electronic gadgets. The last time I looked at Apple's environmental impact sheet for iPhone, something like 77% of carbon emissions from each iPhone are from manufacturing, and only 17% from actual use.
The s models are always much better. I do always buy both but never like the 1st gen model.

I doubt that very much. Apple aren't going to create an all new model on a design that is outgoing (6, 6s, 7). They will reuse an old model (iPhone 5) for updated models (5s, SE), but not create a new 6 design in a small size. They would have done that two years ago at the 6 launch if that was the case.
iPhone 4s certain ain't a LOL model. Its quite astonishing how great it is still, it was only discontinued earlier this year in February.

Buying an iPhone is not like a $15 visit to the cinema. You can easily skip multiple models with iPhone, appreciating the model you have. You don't need to have the most recent retail release to be part of the community here.

On the plus side, it's no worse than all of the other threads where people are losing their **** because UPS failed to deliver their precious iP7s on Friday and now have to wait until Monday. First world problems indeed.

As another issue, if we all decided to upgrade every year with a new model, e.g. iPhone 7, the world would be completely filled with electronic waste. It's actually a smart thing some users hold off upgrading if it ain't necessary to upgrade. Apple preaches environment. The best thing for the environment is the three Rs - first Reduce (don't upgrade each year), second Reuse (source a secondhand model from family/friends), and then third Recycle (send old model for recycling).

It's ceramic glass. It's Apple's roadmap. All signs point this way, a better way in making iPhones. Apart from being more durable, goodbye ugly antenna lines.

Not at all. They're cheap. The kind of ceramics used here are the same ceramics Corning uses in cookware. They are the same ceramics Corning used in the white iPhone 4/4s and iPhone white 5/5s. (The Apple Watch Edition in ceramic white would have the largest profit margins of any Apple Watch seen to date.)
It's no one's business really what the OP has or hasn't unless they are volunteering information, it's irrelevant to all of us here.
