Hmmm...Interesting information what about the Broadwell inclusion in rMBP 15 inch ? Did you say June-2015 ?

According to production schedule June would be possible in most ideal scenario

According to production schedule June would be possible in most ideal scenario

It is not customary of any Apple event happening in June so infact we are talking about an event where either they may club it with their iPhone release in September or iPad release in October!

...err, WWDC?

Seldom Apple releases any of their hardware devices during WWDC,It is mostly an event to showcase and release the developer version of the new software, iOS or new Mac OS that Apple develops, never does it happen that Apple releases their hardware devices at WWDC, it is mostly software!

2009 - new MBPs
2010 - iPhone 4
2012 - rMBP
2013 - Mac Pro

It's not unusual for them to announce hardware at WWDC, although they usually do focus on software. If the timeline fit, I see no reason they wouldn't announce then, especially given they haven't shied away from it in the past.

When proven wrong with a multi-year list of hardware announced at WWDC, does augustya admit that they were mistaken?

Yeah but that was a year and half back. They didnt do it this year. No Gurantee that they would do it next year, they have stopped doing it recently.

hahaha...weak.

Apple did not announce new hardware at WWDC 2011 (as far as I know) but Apple did the following year. So there is no guarantee that they won't do it next year.

Barring the September iPhone release and the October iPad release their is no fixed timetable that Apple follows for other things. you know that right? And have you heard of a word called evolved? things change and have change and so has the last few releases that Apple has made that does not mean what happened in the past will happen always nor does it mean it will not happen again. Was it so difficult for you to understand?

Here's what I understand: you said that Apple "seldom" releases/announces hardware at WWDC. A list was provided to you that demonstrates that hardware was announced at four of the last six WWDCs, and then you initiated a "Yeah, but".

You have an understanding problem then !!

Apple doesn't have a fixed timetable, ever. Yes they have focused on Software at WWDC in the past. That is probably what they would prefer to do, because then they can release their products in September and October for the holiday season (and also avoid BTS discounts from summer). That doesn't mean they stick to that schedule, as you stated. Just because they prefer their schedule does not mean that they will follow that, especially when variable component release changes are present. Just like this year, with Broadwell's delay. I think this year would have one of the highest chances of them releasing hardware during WWDC because 1) that is when broadwell comes out, 2) they haven't updated any of their macs yet (WWDC would be the next opportunity), and 3) Skylake will come soon after broadwell, so I don't think they'll wait too long to put that in their line-up.

No guarantees, like you said, but this would be one of the best case scenarios for them to actually release hardware at WWDC.

What does WWDC have to do with Broadwell Macs? How often do they hold an event to announce faster processors in their Macs? Such refreshes are usually rather quiet.

The refresh could coincide with the event and go unmentioned. Maybe tacked onto the end of it? Or maybe the rumored 12" MacBook Air Retina will be the star of the show?

I think we'll see a significant update with the next model. It would have been three years since the last major change, the introduction of the Retina display. Since then all we've got is spec bumps.

802.11n -> 802.11ac
Thunderbolt -> Thunderbolt 2
SATA SSD -> PCIe SSD
650m -> 750m
Iris -> Iris Pro
Ivy Bridge -> Haswell

There hasn't been a new feature. And when June 2015 rolls around that'll be 3 years exactly since the last major update.

I don't think we'll just get another GPU + CPU spec bump. I think we may see TouchID make its way over to the Mac and it would tie in well with a preview of the next version of OS X 10.11 which is expected to be shown at WWDC if they keep their cadance.

My prediction, Retina MacBook Pro refresh, perhaps even introduction of this MacBook Air Retina (Like they did in 2012's WWDC with a few hardware updates across the notebook lines). Then they'll show off a preview of 10.11 that uses the new TouchID sensor and some other general changes and a preview of iOS 9.

Admittedly I've been wrong before but this time I got a feeling! :D

Well everything you've said is eventually coming! If not in 2015 then in 2016 most certainly.

So a Broadwell rMBP 13" might be coming in March? But then a Skylake release could come less than a year later? I'll probably just wait.

I think it's likely we'll see Skylake delayed like we have with Broadwell. Intel is finding it hard to stick to their roadmap lately.

I'll tell you this people. I hope that by this time next year I'll be sitting on the couch with a nice space grey 15" broadwell or skylake MacBook Pro with a nice little gtx 980m, pumping out max settings on whatever game I feel like playing. Maybe watching a movie on it in possible 4K resolution?? Maybe?? Simply dreams at this point, but dreams are what the future is made of right?

The 980m is highly doubtful, your more likely to see a 8/950m, at the most a 8/960m.

Ya, I totally agree. Just dreaming. Still, broadwell with a 950m would probably be better than the current haswell with the 750m. I'm into the idea of a good looking laptop being an all in one machine, ie games, media, work, etc. I've got the 2011 13" macbookpro and it doesn't do what I want it to, so I'm saving my pennies in anticipation for the next major refresh.

It may make sense for Apple to release a MacBook Air Retina using Broadwell in Spring and then use Skylake for updated MacBook Pros in Fall. In this way the Air and Pro product lines can be further differentiated.
