Well I ended up buying the new rmbp.. maxed out for 1800. we met in the mall, mac was still in wrap. after i told him that as long as the comp is good i would buy it, he let me open it up. warranty status checked out on the website, warranty valid till july 25 2014
Congrats!
What do you mean by maxed out? $1800 for a 2013 15" rMBP 2.8Ghz, 16Gb ram, 768Gb disk sounds too good to be true...

Hi guys,
Still waiting for the 3 stock MacBook Pros I ordered for my school. I ordered two on July 8th, and one on July 10th. I emailed my inside rep, which was forwarded to logistics. They emailed me back telling me that they are "delayed due to a lack of supply of all products from one warehouse. Since your account is ship complete, we would need a partial shipment authorization form signed for each order to remove this requirement. At that time, we should be able to immediately allocate all products from wherever stock is available." So I filled out & faxed back the forms they attached for me to sign, yet these orders still sit there "processing items." Grrrr...
I think apple paid some millions $ to companies such as EA or UbiSoft to optimize some of their top games for iris pro. During the next event in October, they'll demo these games to prove the iris pro is very capable for gaming and 3d rendering...

im from spain and the macbook pro 15(no retina) is out of stock on many retailers
Yes, Apple might show off one or two games on Iris Pro, but the overall situation will not change: Gaming on a Mac is a huge compromise!
Es que estamos en crisis... Como nadie compra, los han retirado para venderlos a paises mas ricos...

Agree. Demoing a couple of games would be a marketing strategy to increase sales... Imagine (I rarely play games), WoW or FarCry running smoothly on a 15" rMBP with no dGPU...![]()
I checked the benchmarks, the iriis pro 5200 is about 8-12% slower than the nvidia 650
Except at higher resolutions, that gap widens to 50 - 60%.
if so i dont think apple can forego a dgpu in the 15" at least. the 5200 is perfect for the 13 tho.

what about 5300??
The 13" will get the 5100 as it's perfect for it. 5200 is meant for high-end notebooks like the 15" rMBP.
The 15" rmbp isn't more "high-end" then the 13" rmbp..
In what way is it not?
The 15" has quad-core, 16GB ram, a dGPU, better resolution, bigger screen. Sure looks more high-end than the 13" to me.
