I think apple paid some millions $ to companies such as EA or UbiSoft to optimize some of their top games for iris pro. During the next event in October, they'll demo these games to prove the iris pro is very capable for gaming and 3d rendering...

Congrats!
What do you mean by maxed out? $1800 for a 2013 15" rMBP 2.8Ghz, 16Gb ram, 768Gb disk sounds too good to be true...

That's a great deal especially for the 16GB/512. Enjoy your new rMBP!

Hi guys,

Still waiting for the 3 stock MacBook Pros I ordered for my school. I ordered two on July 8th, and one on July 10th. I emailed my inside rep, which was forwarded to logistics. They emailed me back telling me that they are "delayed due to a lack of supply of all products from one warehouse. Since your account is ship complete, we would need a partial shipment authorization form signed for each order to remove this requirement. At that time, we should be able to immediately allocate all products from wherever stock is available." So I filled out & faxed back the forms they attached for me to sign, yet these orders still sit there "processing items." Grrrr...

OMG.......those laptops are still sitting? I thought for sure you would have received them by now! Hmmmm.....wonder if Apple truly is starting to dry up in stock of their c/rMBPs.

Hope you get them soon!

Just like Apple is paying millions to EA and Ubisoft to optimize their software for OSX... wait

Most new games don't come with a OSX version, and those who do often come with a huge delay and sub-par performance when compared to running on the same machine in Windows.

Yes, Apple might show off one or two games on Iris Pro, but the overall situation will not change: Gaming on a Mac is a huge compromise!

Agree. Demoing a couple of games would be a marketing strategy to increase sales... Imagine (I rarely play games), WoW or FarCry running smoothly on a 15" rMBP with no dGPU... :D

I checked the benchmarks, the iriis pro 5200 is about 8-12% slower than the nvidia 650

All apple had to do was upgrade the specs a bit for this refresh but now it seems they'll throw a curve ball and drop a dgpu, which will piss everyone off. Why do they keep annoying their users with this kind of crap? Removing things unnecessarily has got to stop. But, I still think there's a decent chance the dgpu stays at least as a bto option.

In what way is it not?

The 15" has quad-core, 16GB ram, a dGPU, better resolution, bigger screen. Sure looks more high-end than the 13" to me.

The 15" is a high end 15" laptop
The 13" is a high end 13" laptop
A really good peach isn't better than a really good strawberry, just bigger.

Good morning from Bulgaria ;)

Good morning from Russia

My 2012 Air is enough for fun and work, but I so want Pro. I going to wait until haswell macbooks. It's hard and miserable... 2-3 month...

Can't just wait, hopelessly refresh this thread and news several times in day. It's more than bad habit, kind of strong dependence already.
