Apple Store Closed for Updates!

The Apple Store is now being updated. This probably represents the introduction of new products. This could possibly be the Haswell MBP.

i just pray for a 16 gig ram option on a $2500 13".
I think there is a very good chance that the Haswell 13" MBP will be offered with a 16GB option. I won't speculate about the price, but I note that Apple currently charge $200 to upgrade from 8GB to 16GB on the 15" rMBP.

No updates

Okay, no updates, so it seems.

The maintenance was originally planned from 6AM till 9AM (RDT) (as seen on http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/) but as we have just crossed the 9AM mark, the maintenance is prolonged to 11AM.

Seems like a backend update that is causing troubles. Unlikely for a content update to take that long.

They are preparing the store to optimally bring us a shiny gold MacBook Pro in September. :D

I have no idea why you would think that. Either a product update or a backend update could easily be extended past the planned time. We'll know one way or the other in a few hours.

I'll point out that September 10 is less than three weeks away and so far there have been no leaks of new MacBook Pro components nor any reported shortages of MacBook Pro inventory.

So far, September 10 is not looking like it would be the end of this thread.

Three weeks is fairly early for Macbook leaks, and it could be a day or two before the release date before SKUs are leaked. It'll take a couple more weeks before we can write it off completely.

That doesn't point to no release. We've had crazy amount of leaks/information over the whole summer. In general, Macs do not get many leaks/rumors because the market for that is not as big as say iPhone/iPad.

I don't think we'll see anything until after the back to school promo ends on September 6th. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't even until after September 20th when the return window ends on purchases made on the 6th.

But... the first tuesday after the promo ends IS the 10th. So who knows!

Hope I'm totally wrong.
