Maybe as a surprise later...? :(

I wish but I can't imagine. They are leading up to iOS7 which everyone wants to see, so it would be pretty anti-climactic after they already did their "Mac" bit to say, "Oh and by the way here is an upgraded rMBP, the end."

The RMBP is still a much better machine than the air, if you wanted one and were waiting to see if there was an update it sucks, but I'm still gonna buy the 2013 model when the store's updated.

They may not update it for months. I doubt they've silently updated it, they would want to highlight changes like that to their line.

I've had (and loved) a MacBook Air for two years, but was ready to switch to the MBP for retina display.

But if they're not refreshed with Haswell, what's the point?

Same. Unfortunately I'm in a position where I cannot continue to wait due to when I leave for school overseas. Need to buy now no matter what.

Don't forget, apple usually does the there's "one more thing" at the end. Could be the RMBP update ????

I still dont get it, you refresh part of the whole damn line??? Makes no sense to me why they wouldnt refresh cMBP or rMBP UNLESS, due to there being no total re-design, they do this silently

not to mention they are much cheaper

The Air is still a much slower machine though. It's not as good for music, film production and it's largely negligible. The only issue is the cost now that they've announced Haswell, if it's the same price its a bit weird.
