Definitely absolutely disappointed about no rMBP update, but still buying. Need it for school and I need it before they will likely announce any potential update in the fall.

Considering I've never used a rMBP with Haswell (since there presently isn't one), I suppose I won't notice anyway. Just a shame to think about what "could have been".

I would like to get word on a backtoschool special so I can at least get a **** gift card.

Will have to use my 2008 13" MBP a few more months... However, I hope they'll make a silent update to the rMBP in July or something! Seriously can't be true, that they're updating the Air with the latest and greatest, and their flagship model doesn't get that!

I'm so happy! Sold my rMBP13 yesterday and for longer batterylife, slimmer design, ac-Wlan and GT3 Graphics i can easily wait 2-3 Month :]]]]

I sold mine last week, but still annoys me!

Like I said in another post, I think they might not have been released because Intel haven't released the HD5000 line of mobile processors yet, I'd like to know what 'this fall' means though.

I'm kind of shocked that Apple would let the MBP (c & r) just linger with IB. Every other OEM is updating to Haswell as they should.

Even if they were waiting for Iris or something else, I think they should have done a 'Sneak Peek' so people have an idea of what they are going to do.

This isn't the MacMini but their flagship notebook products here. Sticking with IB is kind of embarrassing at this point.

I also don't see them doing an event in July given BTS is just around the corner after that followed by the long march to Christmas.

I am also shocked. The Air seems nice, but with the compromises (only up to 2.6 now, same res and same screen) the wait must continue! Only thing is: I need it by September-October.

dilemma

i am confused now,,, i need to buy a notebook and i am confused between the rMBP 13" and the new MBA 13" . i did a quick comparison and its 300$ different, does the retina win or the new MBA with 11ac, HD5000 etc win!!
one question, they claim the new flash storage is 45% faster than the previous, does this include the rMBP

any advice
thanks

No the rMBPs were not updated at all. Your uses for the computer please?

i work in IT pre sales so i do lots of presentations, heavy office user, run some VMs with centos and Unix (Fusion and virtual box), work as field sales so battery means to me. also i have the normal iLife stuff. emails is important. i do gaming on my iMac.

MBA if you can't wait.

Depends what you'll use the laptop for, the MacBook Pro Retina is always gonna be better if you wait for the refresh but the HD5000 in the Air is a lot better, the battery is a lot better, but it all depends on your use; question is are you happy to pay for older hardware and a heavier machine but with a higher resolution? Or would you prefer the latest and lightest 'ultrabook'?

The wait continues

Pretty disappointed...
Although I perceive it this way:
Apple has something up their sleeves for this Retina Macbook update, perhaps; IGZO display, Thunderbolt 2, Iris Pro and OS X exclusives.
Can anyone think of other updates?
If they do not deliver atleast one I have mentioned that would be an absolute shock, as they may as well of released it today.

Also, this gives us time to get more financially ready AND it will most likely ship with new OS X ;)

On a side note - very excited about 12- hour battery life on MBA and new OS X. This means Retinas should see a battery life jump.

and thats the confusion. i have an old MBP 2009 and i've been waiting for 4 months or more for this event to change, and i was going on the 13" eMBP till today!!! now the MBA looks more better. speed is what i need in my work, so is it really apple has done a new faster flash storage? this can close the deal on MBA at least for a year till we have a better 13"rMBP

The day before the official 'first day of winter'.

Bastards! Hope their stock crashes.

This is how we got screwed in the first place. Let's not even assume what could be and just wait for Little Timmy to surprise us.
