Meant to say about the possible 'No headphone jack'
I for one am dead against this. I did buy a £25 adapter when they moved across to lightning. I found it fiddly at best. I want to use my faithful Koss Porta Pros headphones and not have to buy an adapter that may damage the iPhone if I knock it.
I'm sure many people reading this have headphones with 3.5mm that they rely on.
Bit worried about apple at the moment to be honest.

I agree such a move would be disruptive to many, however I do like the concept if they provide some earbuds as included that would work via Bluetooth. Such a move would create a whole market for Bluetooth to headphone jack adapters.

I personally want to see a completely sealed device. Might me cool enough to get most causal users to bite.

May even help bring down the cost of higher quality wireless headphones since demand would be higher.

I may just go with the 7+ from my 6 so there IS a bigger change for me. That, and a better camera. And of course the normal improved radio LTE support.

Smaller bezel and bigger battery would be nice, but doesn't look like we will be getting them.

There is already a huge market for Bluetooth. Some people prefer wired for better sound and no need to worry about charging.

Totally agree bought an inexpensive bluetooth earbuds for my apple watch.
What a PAIN in the backside they are. Yet another device to remember to charge. Hardly used them.
3.5mm wired is international standard.

... Until Apple eliminates it.

But your point is taken

We all remember the insane lines around the blocks at the iPhone 4 release, iPhone 5, and not so much for the 6.

Why were there such long lines? Why were so many millions of people clamoring to get their mitts in the next gen phone?

The answer is actually kind of disturbing.

It wasn't so much that people loved their iPhones, it was that they were so unsatisfied with the one they had... yet ensnared in the iOS ecosystem. It was embarrassing (I thought). And disturbing.

Instead of the being a celebration of iPhone popularity, the insane clamoring for the next gen iPhone was a sorry reflection as to how much people didn't like the one they had.... How eager they were to get rid of it for something better.

Well those early dark days of dissatisfaction are gone and the current crop of iPhones are pretty damn nice. And plenty speedy.

When the iPhone 7 debuts, it's gunna have to compete for happy customers with current phones (not bored customers)... And a better camera or finer display or faster processor certainly won't pry my 6+ out of my greasy paws.

Looking forward to what the 7 may bring. Definitely won't be buying one. I like the phone I have. A lot.

Uh... What? The lines for the 6 were absolutely insane. It completely outsold both the 4 and 5 by a huge margin. Did you miss that release?

So what do we get? The Weibo report brings us photos, allegedly from the factory floor, showing batteries the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. According to their codes they reveal the phones will get 1735 mAh and 2810 mAh capacity batteries respectively.Yes, this is a small increase from the iPhone 6S (1715mAh) and iPhone 6S Plus (2750mAh) but actually still a notable step down from the iPhone 6 (1810mAh) and iPhone 6 Plus (2915mAh).

Apple has spent the last few years doing a brilliant job of dumbing down the desire and expectations of the Apple Faithful. Forcing them to go for years without modern sized displays like they finally included in the 6 series, Apple proved once again that they control and dictate to their user base.

Further proof lies in the wholesale acceptance and celebration of the iPhone SE. A product that's an excellent one, yet save for some token tweaks, is a recycled device.

All the while the Android OS continues to enjoy significant improvements, advances and innovation, it goes unnoticed by Apple’s devotees that live behind closed doors in the walled garden. Save for the brave few that step out to taste the forbidden fruit, Apple's reign continues.

Despite all this, unbridled facts and information flows out for all to see, Android market share grows, Apple gets slapped by China, and change is in the wind...

The iPhone 7 had been rumored to be dropping the analog 3.5 mm headphone jack, in favour of wireless Bluetooth or lightning cable headphones for audio output. However, a new iPhone 7 component leak posted on weibo disagrees with previous reports, depicting a board that includes a 3.5mm jack.
The 3.5mm jack is large (relative to the thinness of the phone), dates back more than a hundred years and has been superseded in terms of signal quality by the modern digital solutions, so it is plausible that Apple would want to abandon it. However, the idea of removing the port has been controversial (with complaints about existing accessory compatibility). This Chinese leak indicates it is sticking around

Great they listened to me, they are keeping the 3.5mm it would have been too disruptive to the billions who use wired 3.5mm headphones.

despite the fact that the device isn't slated to launch for at least another four full months, excitement and interest in the device is already greater than it was for the iPhone 6s. This is particularly noteworthy given that the iPhone 6s has arguably not performed up to expectations

I think the 7 will be a good upgrade. A lot of people will be upgrading from the 6 and 6 Plus.

I'm due an upgrade in Sepember after 24 months, love the iPhone 6 128GB except the copy & paste is VERY temperamental for some reason.
Would be happy with the same form factor as the 6.
I guess it will be a September launch for the '7'? & the iPhone 8 (10 year special anniversary edition) for June/July 2017

Profits really don't grow at any impressive level for android manufacturers when Apple garners 96% of the profits.

"excitement and interest in the device is already greater than it was for the iPhone 6s" ?

This claim sounds like a story made up by Apple's marketing department to draw attention. In the majority metropolitan I reside in the smartphone buzz is all about the excellent Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, this yearsx$

And the point is?

The post you responded to was not focused on profits. Everyone who follows the tech industry understands that Apple builds in far higher margins than other OEM's. That's been a fact for decades.

Selling a Chinese made iPhone 6S Plus series thats priced approximately $300 _more_ than the similarly equipped Nexus 6P, is a testimony of Apple's marketing prowess and brand loyalty.

Once upon a time, Apple had the better ecosystem, but thats no longer the case. Apple has built emotional ties and convinced customers that its unwise and risky to leave the confines of its famous walled garden where Apple knows best. No one spends the time and money on sales, marketing and brand building like Apple.

You mentioned market share nuff said.

I know you use multiple devices, but I'm not like that. Android is not my thing and I like what I like. I don't care if Apple hypnotized people, I'm looking forward to the iPhone 7.

I disagree. I feel that previous iPhone models have had much more excitement in the months before launch.

Yes it has. To mention 4

1. Better Camera
2. Faster Touch ID
3. 2 GB of Ram
4. Faster CPU/GPU

Hopefully the 7 will improve on these

I don't think it really matters what Android device comes out. Most of these iPhone users don't care. They are used to what they have, their friends have iPhones and the have no reason or desire to change.

I can't tell you how many people I've dealt with who allowed a salesperson to talk them into the latest Android device and within days they want to go back.

"It's too different" "I can't see when my friends are responding to my text" (ala iMessage) "My Apps look different" and on it goes. Most of these iPhone users just want a shiny new iPhone and if they can afford it they will buy it.

I personally have one of each and the iPhone is my primary. My entire family is on iPhones and the times I stepped away to try out the latest HTC or Motorola (I personally do not like Samsung phones - I do like their TVs) device it was annoying and I aways came back.

I rarely have a need to upgrade. I usually upgrade just so my family can get last year's model from me. Many people upgrade because they just want something new (From Apple).

iPhone 7" will share the same width and height as the iPhone 6s, but use different camera technology, Past reports have indicated that an "iPhone 7 Plus" might have a Dual camera lens , but that the regular model will have a conventional single-lens system,
