Kind of like the 6s had little to offer above the 6?
The thing is that as nice as the 6 was, the 6+ was an issue for a lot of people because of the bending issues, constant safari tab refreshes, etc. For me, I decided to go after the 6S for the 2GB of RAM, 4K camera, better front facing camera, 3D Touch, and the A9 processor. But the 6S is what the 6/6+ should've been. I support Apple, but not to the point of buying a phone for the sake of upgrading year in year out. Hell, I thought the SE was going to be trash before it was announced and it turned out to be a viable option for 18-24 months, so people won't have to upgrade anytime soon. So yep, I would wait till 2017. But I really do hope I am wrong about the iPhone 7 being a very incremental update. I really do want Apple to remain technological savants because there is so much we can have on our iPhones that are musts: quick charge, better power saving options, USB Type C, Wireless Charging (although it's relatively limited), dual stereo speakers, water resistance.

2017 was rumors, now we have confirmation from one supplier... major changes/leaks tend to happen with iPhone. Given the amount of coverage, I think its safe to say 2017 is the year iPhone will be getting that redesign the majority are anticipating. As big as Apple is, unless they suddenly divert resources and choose to shock and awe everyone by taking that "one model" 2017 iPhone and bringing it to 2016... probably better to switch to Android if you don't feel like waiting.
I disagree with you about first release of a new redesign. iPhone 6 was flawless. Bendgate was overrated.
Hard to do so. As I7guy and other users are around here are really into the iOS ecosystem, that it is hard for them to give up. He/she can tell you personally how iOS helps them because I am not in their shoes. In my experience, they're a common poster and passionate about Apple products, so they have faith about the future. I wish Apple would just offer three model phones with all the same features with no frills. I mean okay, fine, a landscape mode not being on the 4" SE is okay with me, but nothing that is going to hinder performance enough to put people in uncomfortable situations like using a 5.5" screen to get 3GB of RAM and dual cameras. Our phones are such important tools that we use them for everything. I don't want to get no OIS on 2/3s of the phones. OIS is a must.
