Is the Iris Pro 580 the iGPU this refresh is supposed to use?
In the 15's, yes. Alongside a dGPU from AMD, we hope, on the top model.
13's should use Iris 550.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford a 15" in time for launch, so the 13s having a potential 550 is still good enough for me.In the 15's, yes. Alongside a dGPU from AMD, we hope, on the top model.

Would you be less pissed to have "some old fart" trying to tell you what computer you need?a few thoughts about wanting to put up a screen shot of Macrumors buying advice pic on apple computers.
TBH, I'd be pissed to have some millennial know it all trying to tell me what computer I need without knowing my needs. So if you guys want to go into the stores and ask every customer their needs and then let them know that apple may (or may not) have an update coming soon, then fine. That's true education. Beyond that, let the adults make their own freaking decisions and let them do what they want.

the macbook or the macbook pro?
a few thoughts about wanting to put up a screen shot of Macrumors buying advice pic on apple computers.
1. It's being said people want to do this to educate potential buyers. I feel that is pure BS. You are not educating anyone based on a picture that you can't even figure out. Macrumors buying guide doesn't show a don't buy because the hardware is ancient technology, but because there is a potential refresh.
2. Are you also going to display a dissertation about how skylake chips are only 10% more powerful than the ones they can walk home with today? Or the fact that skylake chips have driver issues? Or that the new mac you want them to purchase will require adapters for all of their existing equipment? I'm guessing you only want to show the "education materials" that support your need to have a new rMBP.
3. 2015 models are not necessarily over priced. Age of equipment has no bearing on selling price. That is totally dictated by the market. If zero macbook pros were selling, then I bet you'd see discounts. Plus at this point, many people would be paying the premium to 1. go home with it today. 2. have the older inputs so they don't have to buy multiple adapters. Plus over priced compared to what? The day 1 model? apple may have very easily updated their memory and SSD quality to have more reliable parts that last longer (or other internals). That would be worth some extra money to many people.
4. Recommendations for a computer are very personal. You need to know why they are buying a new computer, what their needs are, etc before you can say it is wrong for them to purchase a 2015 model. In fact in the last 200-300 pages, there were dozens of people who "caved" because the 2015 is an awesome computer that gives them exactly what they want. Including that lack of waiting. It's hard to say the 2016 models are better when they aren't out yet. For all we really know right now, the new rMBP could be capped at i7 Dual cores with no dGpu in both the 13" and 15" with tons of screen issues, and driver issues, and input problems with exploding batteries. If this came to fruition, I guarantee the 2015 model would be looked at as a much better solution for most people wanting MBPs.

I'm just really glad I bought a used 2014 13" last year off of ebay to replace my 2009. That's really helped me with this stupid long wait.
I'm also going to be really cautious with buying this new model, even though Apple has supposedly been testing it for MONTHS now. I would definitely wait at least a month or two after the release. I'm not fully trusting Apple this time around...
What do you imagine could go wrong that a 1-year manufacturing defect warranty couldn't solve?
Edit: added a word, without which that question made no sense.
Is that site reliable? Or is it one of those University Herald sites?

I doubt we will see new MacBook Pros this year. We should be seeing tons of leaks by now.
MacBook Pro or Macs in general have rarely leaked other than perhaps a few days prior of a launch.I doubt we will see new MacBook Pros this year. We should be seeing tons of leaks by now.
Honestly..... wont it be funny if October goes by without a sound from Apple regards the new MacBooks![]()
