USB C/TB3 is clearly the way to go, 3 or 4 of them will be perfectly fine (2 TB3)
Considering that this machine should last 5 years or something, really wonder why people are questioning that.

Rumors mean lots of open ended questioning. Also, dunno how one would expect a MBP to last 5 years when it'll be released with already outdated specs as usual. ;)

Let's wait and see, I'm hoping for an invite today. If they don't go out, I'll wait till next thursday. If nothings said by then, one can assume Mac's won't come out this year, thus I'll buy something else.

Let's wait and see!

i know this, when they do get released im going to now be broke... over $2,000 computer

i got in a car accident last night and thats gonna cost me another $1,000 at least to get the car fixed.. just my luck :( luckly i have a good paying job so i will get the $$$ back eventually on both cases.

So the Nike + Apple watch is gonna be revealed on October 20th, 12 AM. What are the odds for the Macs to be revealed on the same day?

We shall see in 4 hours...

i looked at that nike event on october 20th and it says 12:00 AM not PM?

there won't be a event at midnight. either that is a typo for a event or that's the time they are being released.

WaterField designs emailed me about sleeves for the new MacBooks with special early bird pricing until 27th October.

https://www.sfbags.com/products/maxwell-macbook-sleeve

The sleeves are sized for the new models.

My bet is on a 27th October reveal.
On the video he says "rumored announcement on the 27th". I don't think he knows any better than we do. That design was so simple and generic that it could have easily been done based on the chassis leaks we all have seen. As it's pre-order they could even change the dimensions when they see the actual dimensions. I still have my hopes up for seeing the invites in a few hours. :D

According to a post in several pages back, usually around 10 AM.

Edit: My bad, in 4 hours. I thought PST time is 4 AM.

The invites are usually sent out at 9 AM. We will know if they are sent out today just 2.5 hours from now. If we don't see the invites today, we will probably get them next week or in the worst case scenario the event will be held in Mar... *gets slapped by Batman*

If it's revealed on 27, and assuming we can order it right away after the event, it will take Apple 10-12 days to ship to my place (since I'm ordering the US keyboard layout and not the Finnish one). Add that and I'd probably arrive on November 6-8. 1 more month to go...

So it fit's both the old and the new...I see...what can it all possibly mean?

It means that the sleeve is... big enough to fit both the new and old model?

Or are you implying that we won't see a new design?

Anyways, from the manufacturer:

-------------------

Early Bird Price available till October 27! In anticipation of Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro refresh, we are updating our sleeve line-up with the new Maxwell Sleeve. The Maxwell joins the Dash and the SleeveCase in providing custom-fit protection without bulk. WaterField's long history of protecting Apple MacBooks began with the Titanium Powerbook in 2001. Since then, WaterField has developed custom-fitted sleeves for every Apple laptop released.

You got ignored because we don't really have enough information...how much space do you use now on your computer? Are you OK with using Optimized Storage to save space, in congunction with your iCloud account? Much of this comes down to personal choice.

I would, however, forget about processor bumps. They aren't noticeable and aren't worth the money. Of course, if you want a lot of HD space you might need to upgrade anyway, because they lock some storage upgrades in them...

I'm using about 600GB across all my drives include the OS. I have not started using the Optimized Storage but it is something I would consider at least on the MacBook Pro.

The only reason I was looking at the processor bump is because I believe it is tied to the Graphics Card that is in the MBP or am I mistaken?

So I am thinking I might need the 1TB drive in the MBP just to make sure I have some free space even with optimized storage.

The changes are quite high that Super Mario will send the invites... but plumbers tend to be late, don't they?

For everyone confused about the exact timing (due to different zones):
Invitations for Apple Events are almost always sent out between 8 and 8:30am, PST.
You can view the current PST time here: http://time.is/PST

So, roughly two hours from this post.
