They'll replace it for a new one, I know it. I'll convince them again and again.

Why next thursday? 10am tomorrow (Thursday Oct. 13, 2016) hasn't passed by yet. I am talking about 10am PST.

Because there are no credible sources suggesting an October 20th launch, but plenty suggesting the 27th.

I hope no one here has a 2015 MBP. :p
*hides*

I wouldn't mind swimming in a Whiskey Lake.
Are you with me, @navaira?
I am always with you, even when you think you're alone in your bathroom. Also always available for a swim in Whiskey Lake unless there's somebody passing by with a Note 7.

A pessimist is never disappointed! At least until the 27th.

The most likely timeline:

  • Next Tuesday - macOS Sierra 10.12.1 is released
  • Next Thursday - invites are sent out to the press
  • A week later - MBPs are announced, we all jump on preorders, those who caved are now regretting it
  • Next Friday - "It's Happening! memes, detailed analysis of our shipping estimates, comparing custom configs etc"
  • Another week later - default configs start arriving, unboxing videos posted, those of us who ordered custom builds angry at ourselves, we could already have had our new MBPs in our hands!
  • Yet another week later - custom configs start arriving, us angry at those who got their build earlier despite ordering a minute later
  • More custom configs arrive within the mid-November timeframe, jump to Waiting for Cannonlake MBP Thread (@bfid111 :)

Didn't think I'd come crawling back to this thread.

My 2015 15" rMBP was stolen the last week of August. I think I went around 2 weeks or so without a laptop. Now I'm working on a friends borrowed Lenovo Y510 running Windows 8.1.

It makes me want to blow my brains out. srs. Especially Windows and it's damn software rape aka forced updates.

I can't take this laptop into class since it only lasts about 5 seconds on battery lol.

Hopefully it comes out this month. If not maybe they have the 2016 rMBPs in the afterlife because Windows is absolutely intolerable.

Since this will be the first Mac I order with a custom config (the highest spec possible on 15" with a dGPU) can anybody tell me when I could expect it to arrive to the UK say if I place my order on the 27th? I''m under the impression I place my order, I have to wait 1-2weeks for it to come but is there any chance there'll be a small amount of highest spec models ship to stores for day of release too?

If you're going for a custom config to the UK (same as me :) prepare to wait 2 weeks.
It'll take a week for them to assemble it in China and ship it by the bloody UPS, which will first fly to the US to make sure your new MBP gets a few bumps and slides along the way, then they'll fly with it to Germany, out of which it'll still take them 2 days to get it to you in the UK.

As for stores having the higher end models, never the one you want :)

Dude see the watch is gonna release on 20th!
Doesn't this implies Apple's event is coming on 20th?
Feel so excited!!!!!!

YEEESSS!!! If Nike will sell the watch on the 20th, Apple will likely also sell the watch at the same time which means they will update the store. They like to update/add several products at the same time so it's probably going to be the Nike watch, AirPods and... a new collection of watch band colors!!!
