I know some people doubt the event, but I think there will be one since it is a pretty big change and they can use it to announce a 4K Apple TV. The TV is something that wouldn't warrant an event either, but they can lump it in with hardware.

If it's revealed on 27, and assuming we can order it right away after the event, it will take Apple 10-12 days to ship to my place (since I'm ordering the US keyboard layout and not the Finnish one). Add that and I'd probably arrive on November 6-8. 1 more month to go...

It means that the sleeve is... big enough to fit both the new and old model?

Or are you implying that we won't see a new design?

Anyways, from the manufacturer:

-------------------

Early Bird Price available till October 27! In anticipation of Apple's upcoming MacBook Pro refresh, we are updating our sleeve line-up with the new Maxwell Sleeve. The Maxwell joins the Dash and the SleeveCase in providing custom-fit protection without bulk. WaterField's long history of protecting Apple MacBooks began with the Titanium Powerbook in 2001. Since then, WaterField has developed custom-fitted sleeves for every Apple laptop released.

-------------------
Gary @SFbags just answered my question as to which size Maxwell Sleeve to select (15" MBP or Undecided). I am preordering the Maxwell but didn't know which size to select. I'm buying the new 15" MBP if that is the announced size.

"Rumor has it that the new MacBook Pro 15” may be slightly thinner - and we’ll be making the 15” MacBook Pro - New! for that.

Still undecided is… maybe a new 14” MacBook Pro - or a 16” MacBook… for those who aren’t sure. And since they haven’t been announced - no one is sure - so order can be changed later after announcement - this just holds your place in line and give you the $20 off.

Feel free to enter notes into the Special Instructions."

This thread was started Oct 26, 2013.

It would legit blow my mind if the new MBP was released 3 years to the day. I'd almost think it was intentional.

I've been lurking this post since the page count was in the 40's. At that time, I lived in a different city and province, had a different job, wasn't engaged, BUT STILL HAD MY ****** 2008 MACBOOK PRO.

Ahh true. I'll see what the options are, cause maybe I can do with the top preconfigured one if it includes 1Tb SSD and 32gb of Ram.

How sure are we that for the new MBPro RAM or even SSDs cannot be upgraded by end users?

Based on when iPhone 7 events went out, wouldn't the logical date for invites to go out this time be Monday, October 17th?

What if they introduce that option for 3,5k-4k and it's the only one with a dGPU?
As long as Apple won't offer a 15" 8GB/128GB entry model for 2,5k everything will be fine. :D
