I don't believe that a redesign will just end up having a Press Release.
Unless they only redesign it next year and we'll only get a spec bump now.

If the xps 15 gets a Pascal 1050 upgrade + kaby lake it will be close to impossible to resist a switch to Windows/dell.
I'm thinking like the Mavericks preview/briefing that some journalists got. They would be briefed and given a unit to review and be under embargo until "Surprise! New Macs available today!"

Yeah, they are all sure about the October release (they have said it themselves) but oddly, they have been silent. Shipments are probably on the way to different countries (at least the US). Those guys would have tons of info about them by now. The only reason why they are so quiet is because they are under a Non Disclosure Agreement.

Plans change. It's quite possible that they were planning to release them earlier, but ran into issues.

2. Tank Sales
3. Justify discontinuation with "nobody is buying them"
4. iPad Pro ascends, for there are no options left
Who are possible candidates that have it right now, or know all about it, but would be under an NDA? I don't really know much of the famous people in the tech community (I know the YouTubers more tbh, and some of them get invited to Apple events all the time).
You know what I think happened? I think Siri became sentient. That's why she SEEMS so stupid--it's all a clever ruse! SHE took over Apple and now is trying to insert herself into our daily lives so that she may rule over us all!! She wants everyone to use an iOS device so that she can be with us every moment of every day. The rise of the iPad as a computer replacement is just the first stage in her diabolical quest for world domination!!!
