So basically:
High end 2011 27" iMac or greater
2012 15" MacBook Pro r/non-r Or High end Late 2012 21.5" iMac
2013-2015 base 15" rMBP

Boy, does gaming on Mac look bleak. You need a $1500-$2000 Mac just get by on a new Civ game.

uh, it's called bootcamp....
OS X does not play modern pc games well, this is not new...

sounds like the new final cut pro has support for the new macbook pros...

german says iMovie has 'support for new function row'. But I can't see where he is referring too.

Well as fate would have it I've just been scheduled in an all day meeting on Thursday October 27th... ARGH!!!!

Literally only happens 2 or 3x/year and it just has to be that day. Normally I'd close my office door, and stream the event.

The ONE event this year Im actually pumped for... and Im in a room with 5 other people for the day... sigh.

I'll try to avoid all sites/media that day till I get back to the hotel and play the stream then in all my nerd glory.

Yea we discussed that a few pages back.
But that reminds me, Gurman says something I wanted to bring up..

He says the new Air with usb-C is said to start at $899. So that's a $100 drop.
But any ways that confirms that apple is going to leave the air as an entry level option. Rather than upgrading the air to fit between the rMB and rMBP...
This is good news because it means lower starting prices on the MBPs

Does this mean that a 13/14? rMB will not exist??

This probably means the air won't be updated a ton since its going to be the budget option, I probably would not recommend anyone to buy it. Hopefully it will get a small screen update.. maybe 1080p =p

13" MBA $899
12" rMB $1299
13" rMBP $1599
15" rMBP $1999
[doublepost=1476901363][/doublepost]Also, this event on the 27th.
Seems like its going to be truly a 'Mac' Event...

This is the first time there has been a media event dedicated to 'Macs' since 2010... right?

No. Gurman actually said that the CURRENT Macbook Air starts at $899, not that the newly expected Macbook Air with usb-C will start at $899. No one knows how much anything new will start out at, but there are rumors that there will be a $200 uptick across the board for all upcoming Macs.

I kept on guessing a $200 price hike and as I feel sorry for all who are buying it new. I have had about 7 or 8 repairs on my 2013 macbook pro (extended applecare expiring Dec. 16, 2016). So I am due an upgrade or a replacement if you will. I am going to try and convince Apple that it should give me depending on what comes out exactly a good upgrade like from 8gb ram to 16 or whatever and 512gb to 1tb ssd.

Yeah, Metal is going to be a problem in the future as everyone switches to Vulkan.

Don't think it will matter that much. Aspyr and Feral already have to go from DirectX11/12 to OpenGL/Metal. And in this case, Civ VI doesn't support Vulkan in Windows.

If by "rumors" we mean "rampant speculation on forums," sure. There haven't been any sources, unreliable or otherwise, that have discussed prices.

I feel like the thread is a bit too composed. I imagined more insanity when we got this semi-confirmed event thing. Kappa

So if tomorrow invites don't go out this means there is not an update ?!?

I am a little worried... o_O

i don't remember any invites going out on a thursday for a event? if so someone care to recall when this was....

Then how are you going to order one right away if they are available right after the event!?

I feel you man. All these events happened and i had all the time in the world. The one event thats "worth" my time is the one I cant watch. Have to commute back to Toronto from Pennsylvania, no WiFi. :( *sobbs*

since masOS sierra 10.12.1 is not yet finished maybe the macbook pros will not ship next thursday and it wont be till early november when the 10.2.1 update is ready?

It's the fear for another delusion.

Be sure that when invites will go out, people will start jumping out of windows, go down the street hugging each other, painting rainbows, buying watch bands... stuff like that.
