well after trying to have a hiatus from this site due to being a little too addicted, I am super happy that next week it's happening.
Will be quite the relief for a lot of people on here I would imagine. I am just hoping they release what I think they will and all will be good - surprises will just add some confusion on what to do, miss the ordering for a couple of days and then not be able to get a new MBPR before xmas.....

So my plan is just buy everything maxed out, immediately on launch :)

Guys I have two questions actually concerns if you ask me will the Metallic Silver colour which is currently available in the rMBP be still be available on the new 2016 rMBP and are you guys ok with if it has the MacBook like Butterfly keyboard ? I like the tactic keys the flatter keys isn't it a typing nightmare

I hope they still keep sd card port as in concept, also 1 legacy usb 3 would be nice

Nobody knows if silver will still be available or not, but I am 99% sure it will be in the line up as it is the classic colour. I love the butterfly keyboard to be honest, and think the current MBP keyboard is a mushy mess once I got used to butterfly. This is a contentious issue though, so my personal preference only.

That moment when Tim Cook said the iPhone SE event was most likely the last time an event would take place at Apple Town Hall..

I agree. Every one of my friends got used to (and prefer) the Butterfly keys after a week. So many people who talk bad of it are people who touched it for 3 minutes at an Apple Store or Best Buy/etc. Of course I'm not discounting the fact that many do genuinely dislike it. It's however reasonable to give it a week/2 weeks to genuinely decide.

I don't really care for that color, but as for the keyboard, I didn't like it when I first tried it at the Apple Store but the more I used it, the more I loved it. I got used to it pretty fast, and once I went back to a normal keyboard it just felt really weird.

I have read, though, that there are occasions where a key will get stuck/not register every click, so keep that in mind. Hopefully, they iron out all possible issues, this is technically their 3rd generation Butterfly keyboard.

I think if they increase the travel just a little bit more, it would be a perfect keyboard.

Guys the day has finally come. I have been waiting 2 years for this godforsaken invite. Kudos to Apple for keeping it simple and getting to the point. I am ordering this now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019R9ILTG/ref=twister_B01K7E3C30?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

I'll shut up again for the next 5 years (coming from a 2008 Aluminum Unibody)

Thank you to all my friends here for flighting the good fight with me and not giving in.

I've got 2 of these for my rMB (one for office and one for home) a little expensive but they do work.

Haven't tried the HDMI or the network port thou.

Exactly even my exposure to it is at trying it at the Apple Store for 5-10 minutes or whatever. And the initial feel I didn't like it, but like you guys say once you get used to it it is a different ball game who knows maybe it would be for the better. But is it for sure that Apple is gonna introduce a Retina Macbook Like Butterfly Keyboard in the 13" and 15" rMBP aswell ? Does it look likely ?

That's about 1 in 10^(10^35660.00640049480). If we were to calculate the volume of the universe in cubic Plank lengths, that number would be the equivalent of 10^(10^35660.00640049480) universes.

As you can see, those numbers are identical. Meaning that the number given is so huge, if you were to write a number in every cubic plank length of the universe--meaning that the entire universe would be a solid mass of supercondensed graphite--you wouldn't have made a dent in the number. You would need more UNIVERSES than that number you've just written--all filled with numbers like that--and you would still have not made more than a tiny DENT in writing out that number.

So yeah, this guy means business.View attachment 666761

Yeah that's pretty big, but it is still far from Graham's number, right? Waitbutwhy had a nice blog post abput that one. Go read while waiting for the MBP!
