Now that I had time to think about it and read some of your posts here I am overexcited by the headline.

The first two times they used "hello" and "hello (again)" were groundbreaking. Without hyperbole. So now I am thinking – surely they are not going to sell USB-C, thinness and a small OLED bar as a mahoossive revolution in computing. Incremental update isn't going to cut it. What ARE they going to show us?

What would be your craziest dreams about new computers? (Except lowering the price. That's too crazy.) I'm almost expecting e-ink keyboard, Apple Pencil-compatible trackpad, possibly completely removed keyboard with secondary display in its place, mind reading, 3D FaceTime camera capable of transmitting smell, 3D printer built in and a headphone jack.

I guess I'm going for the 15in. I used auto cad with a little lag on my 2012 MBA with 4gb of ram for a couple years now. Been waiting for the switch to revit.

Also what is everyone need all these dongles for? I have a external hd hooked up to my router for tm backups. Key and mouse are wireless. Don't use flash drives anymore since everything's on cloud. I don't use my camera 99% of the time anymore so don't really need a sd reader. The only thing would be is maybe a external monitor for me. Is there anything I'm missing?
Everybody has different situations, for your job I guess you don't need all this stuff, but lot of us do.

For example, I work on cinema and advertisement, and I share projects, video files, etc. every week (I'm talking about hundreds of Gb, so "Cloud" doesn't work for me) I have my own externals harddrives, my colegues have their owns, they connect their HDD to my computer, I conect mine to their computer, etc. We are continuously sharing stuff. Also, for video editing on Premiere or Final Cut (4k material) most of times the video files are on external drives not in the internal drive, and I can't just connect it wireless, cause you need heavy speed for editing.

Detachable 2-in-1 touch screen supported macbook pro? :))

Yo
How many of you live in boston? I just went to turn in my rMBP and met two other guys doing the same. Now, that I come home I realize I could have waited till the last day of the 14 day return policy.
Did you really buy a rMBP a week ago knowing all this would happen? :S

RIP my 2011 MBA with a cracked screen since September 2015.
You have served me well.

I did. Over ebay. Arrived just yesterday. rMBP 15, late 2013, fully loaded. 900£, looks and acts as brand new. Battery is on 98% health (only 52 cycles).

Why did I do that? Look at the price. Look at it again ;)
And then, I didn't plan on buying first gen of new product. No thanks. I already own rMB12, and usb-c is a complete mess at the moment. A complete mess. Not just on apple part, but on everyones part. From caldigit to anker.

So I plan on waiting for another year, then purchasing new MBP. Second gen.
Waiting will be a lot easier with this rMBP15 on my desk :)

And maybe spilt coffee on it on the 13th day. Better done sooner rather that later in case there was any hitch. Rest easy!

Those looking for a 15" MBP - are you expecting more of a delay for release or release at same time as 13"?

So, is Tim Cook still in Japan? Maybe we'll get to see him at the Nintendo NX unveiling today?

I'd be curious to see results of a "do you want computers with touchscreen" poll. I'm one of those people who absolutely can't stand fingerprints on their screens. Bad enough on the phone and tablet, but a laptop or desktop is harder to clean by rubbing the screen with my t-shirt.

I work onboard ships and we used to have a touch screen display on a radar set. For those in the know it was an ARPA.

Every morning I was cleaning the screen, because unless I didn't, it was like running u're finger across hills and valleys with the amount of grease and muck that people's fingers picked up and deposited on the screen; eurgh.

So no, I don't want a touch screen laptop.

Oh God No ! I hope they dont do this ! I am also in to buy the 15" rMBP and I hope they dont delay or stagger their release as far as the 15" rMBP is concerned I hope they anounce and release it both at the same time the 13" and the 15". I wonder though what would be the case ?

Will you buy the black, silver, gold or pink macbook pro?

I like the current Silver Colour of the rMBP so I guess they would keep the current Silver colour along with the Gold and Pink and Black colour that they may offer. But I am hoping they would keep the current Silver Colour.

Well, you case is different, it's second hand and cheap, but the guy I quoted just bought rMBP at full price, for that cost you' be able to get the new one in a week.

About the 1st gen thing... You (all of you) think there will be hardware problems? I'm gonna get it cause I need a new machine (I have an old Asus 4gb RAM, only works when connected and it's extremely sloooow. For heavy stuff I have the desktop PC, but I need a a laptop for mobility, so I can't wait any longer, and don't wanna spend money in some outdated machine right now.

The first two times they used "hello" and "hello (again)" were groundbreaking. Without hyperbole.

Just don't forget that hindsight is always 20/20. When they used "hello (again)", the then-Mac-forums were livid about Apple presenting a computer without serial ports, ADB or SCSI in favor of USB. Re-using the headline is less an indication of a ground-breaking computer than one that reduces port types *again* to USB.

BTW, from what I hear, there aren't going to be rose or gold options. Could be my sources are wrong and that they have seen only silvery parts, but just don't bet on colorful models.
