oh good, a flying paparazzi.
I told all of you it was going to be a rehash of last year's event. Drones, curie, 3d printing, useless stuff and....oh fashion.
We haven't got fashion yet though. The realsense drone was cool.
EDIT: they showed fashion...well it was lady gaga but you get the point.

Other manufacturers (Samsung, HP, LG) have all announced Skylake powered laptops. So obviously the chips are ready for mass production. Something official from their CES keynote would be nice (real time demos showing all of the improvements) but it seems like they are more interested in doing an electronics circus rather than making actual announcements.

student discounts are irrelevant in this context.

I'd jump on that right now if it was offered in Canada. Unfortunately, checked and no changes.
Also, very disappointed by the lack of announcements from Intel :(.

Well Lady Gaga is amazing, dare I say, even better than any Skylake announcement!

So no news out of the Intel CES keynote?

skylake news? No. But apparently intel is working on some tiny chip that monitors everything about everything.

also girl gamers and lady gaga. and bollywood. This is what actually was discussed at the keynote.

Yep delivery dates are changing this morning my delivery window was 08/01/2016 now it's dropped to 11/01/2016.

PS the other shipping dates I posted before weren't for my area.

Stock fluctuations are normal, I see them at least once a month, that's nothing new nor a sign that would indicate that a new model is about to be released. What would be a sign though: stock fluctuations + macrumors article about a possible release. The Skylake chips will be launched silently in mid/late January, nothing to worry about. The rMBPs will come in March, everyone is pointing that way so let's just wait.

Someone using TB3 for something useful. Now this is interesting:
Razer uses Thunderbolt 3 to add dedicated graphics to its sleek new Ultrabook

Not much of an expert on thunderbolt and external graphics, but if the next macbook pro has a usb c and thunderbolt 3, would we be able to do this?

If so then I would buy the base variant without the discreet gpu.
