I've been looking at my watch a lot lately. It still doesn't sink in that the number of days left only changes once every day. :(

Has anyone heard whether Apple will move away from glossy screens on the new models? I'm using an early 2011 15" MBP with "high-res" anti-glare screen, and prefer how it looks over the glossy.

Either way, I'm getting excited!

I love the high-res anti-glare screens, but Apple seems to have moved away from that. idk why. I'll probably just buy the 3M Anti-glare Privacy filter (it does reduce the res, but still better than having a reflective mirror lol).

Although the glare has been substantially improved on the IPP screen.

Alright, thanks for the answers! Final question then: Can I use the same windows activation key for bootcamp and parallels? Or do I have to buy two separate keys?
I'm not 100% sure so make sure you google but you might be able to get the parallels copy run off of the boot camp partition. Meaning youll just need one key.

Except for the OLED bar. So gimmicky and pointless. But apparently some people are into that...

Agreed, but all rumors point to it, so might as well accept it. I actually think it looks good on render, but it doesn't change the fact that this OLED bar is something I'd expect from Razer or HP to add a gimmicky feature to their laptop. Very un-Apple, IMO. Oh, and don't even get me started about this new potential point of failure in the software. Now my keyboard volume controls might not work because of some bug in macOS 10.13.2.1...

i had a touch bar on my hp pavilion 2005, it was horrible. The mac one will probably be better, but still. I WANT TO PRESS IT WITH MY FINGERS, NOT MY EYES. Sorry for caps, but most people (at least pro people) don't look at the keyboard when they type, it's just there. Feels like apple forgot this

How many people actually need 32GB RAM? Are the kind of RAM chip densities necessary for Apple to fit 32GB into their form factor available?

Besides being eager to see the reveal, I'm almost as hyped about a teardown-I'm desperate to see what Apple have done inside:D

Will be ordering a 15" and will mostly be using it for photo editing, video editing and with a variety of other Adobe apps.

Would 16GB of RAM be sufficient? Some of my video work may be with 4K files. Also plan on keeping this for a long time. My current laptop is six years old.

Do we know how long the event will be?
In 2012 with the introduction of retina 15'' MBP how soon the machine was available for purchase on the Apple online store?

Excuse me if these questions were already asked.

I have 1 license, but it only worked a while after win10 came out. But some people were able to cal Microsoft to resolve. But even when I couldn't register, it still fully worked. Please see that forum.

I feel the same way. Processor updates, chassis redesign, keyboard redesign are all norms for a MacBook Pro update. Heck I'll even say that if the OLED touchbar they're introducing is considered big, then the 2012 redesign was the biggest undertaking ever cause that introduced the world to high DPI screens on laptops.

There surely has to be something more. Apple Pencil input seems like that, it would be great for artists. But there has to something even more than that.

Or I'm just expecting too much after this wait lol.
:p;):D

It is all Making sense to me now. To be able to draw with Apple Pencil on the Trackpad seems like the next big thing if it happens to the MacBook, I think it looks very much plausible, rest of the spec bump is just following the inevitable and the hardware and competition norms and trend.

There's not a lot of improvement from Skylake to Kaby Lake. But a lot of improvement from Broadwell to Skylake for sure. Not to mention a thinner and lighter form factor.

I can't wait no longer!

There is a major new feature though. HEVC 4K 10bit hardware decoding. I'm personally waiting for a Kaby Lake Mac Mini for my HTPC because of that.

Tinfoil hat on

MacBook Air - A10X ARM SoC;
MacBook - Kabylake Low Power dual core Intel chip - iGPU;
MacBook Pro 13" - Skylake Hi power dual core Intel chip - iGPU;
MacBook Pro 15" - Skylake Hi power quad core Intel chip - dGPU.

Then, in 2017, MacBook Pro will update to Kabylake

all new 2017 Macs will be on Apple-custom AMD's Zen CPU from 4 to 32 cores, starting with base iMacs or Mini late Q2.

you might be waiting a long time ...

I know man, what can I say...I've been waiting since early 2015, that's when I got my 4K TV, and wanted a Mac Mini capable of hardware 4K decode and HDMI 2.0 to connect to it...oh well...

On previous updates to the Retina Macbook Pros, how long was it until they went on sale on the website? I know quite a few times they were on sale the day of, but how many hours/minutes after the keynote ends do they start selling?

Bezels, OLED bar and GPUs aside, what colour is everybody going for? I'm thinking Space Grey should it be available

Will wait to see them. Depending upon what shade they pick, I'll go for Space Grey/Black. Otherwise, can't go wrong with Silver.

Good question. I don't like space grey. But undecided between Matte Black and Silver. Silver is more classic and it goes with my silver Nexus 6P. But that Matte Black is pretty as hell too, tho.
