Now this is a story I want to hear. What happened in your life that brought you to this unfortunate reality?

How many hours of battery are predicted for the 13" and 15" separately?

Broadwell gave the 13" an extra hour from memory, so I'd assume with the new tech from the screen Ming has talked about we should see 11 hours on the 13" and 15". If not, I'd say the 15" will gain 1 hour to 10 hours and both will exceed their ratings in battery life tests.

Is anyone else slightly disappointed that Ming said it will be the same resolution? I was really hoping for a bump to 4K for the 15" or at least a bump 3360 x 2100 to match the old high resolution option that used to be present. I mean greater efficiency from the 12" Macbook and P3 colour was always a given.

Yeah, pretty disappointing. I always run in high resolution mode (1920x1200) for the extra real desktop space, but was hoping they'd go higher res so I can keep that resolution and actually get retina quality. Oh well.

I am having my last mid term on Wednesday, 8AM local time, getting up at 6. The keynote will be Friday at 2AM (living in Seoul currently). Not sure if I can stay up that long after studying late nights for weeks. Really hard decision... Sleep and enjoy on the next morning or try to stay awake... Well, three more days to decide.

Dude, first off, get your priorities straight. How dare you believe any form of studying for any relevant exam is more important than a questionably ~2 hour, but most likely 1 hour long Mac keynote, which may or may not feature watch bands as an accessory. How dare you. If I were you, which I am because I am also in University, I would(am) skip out of any form of studying and compromise my future success for Apple. Get your priorities straight.

Damn dude, who cares what other people do with their time.

That's actually the smartest way to do it. (Buying AppleCare 360 days after you placed your order.)

I'm based in the U.S., so forgive me if I'm not up to speed on this, but doesn't Europe have some kind of mandatory warranty extension period for consumer protection? Perhaps our European friends can chime in on this...
Normally the European warranty is 2 years by default, but some countries have it better - 5 years in Norway.
Those 5 years are special though, it's 2 years retailer + 3 years manufacturer.

I had my first MBP dream last night (yes I'm a late bloomer ...)

I was in (my?) room watching the live keynote with Steve (Jobs!) sitting next to me and chatting. Then comes the big reveal time about the MBP and .... it's aweful ! It looks like a 90s machine (big, old grey and bulky) and the OLED bar is actually separated from the computer and linked by a small cable  I was also super duper disappointed because the whole event lasted only 35 minutes (including other products' presentation). They showed the Mac said 3 words and it was over :( And of course after that my iPhone screen shattered, and I was super pissed  but thankfully woke up .

3 days to go... let's hope the real Keynote will go better :apple:

But for now...Is there any usb c external hard drives available at the moment? and what do you suggest? is the usb-c the 10 GB data transfer? is there thurnderbolt 3 HD available yet? any sugestion on fast external HD to use with this new usb c ports?

thank you all.

Admit it. You shot straight up at 4AM in bed with cold sweats and your heart wrenching inside your chest, turned to Macrumors to check if all that was real, and checked your phone to make sure it wasn't cracked. Then you sighed a breath of relief and admit to yourself that you've now effectively lost a few years of your life from that dream.

Then of course you proceeded to check if Steve Jobs is indeed alive, and promptly got disappointed again.

I've been lurking for three years or so. Reading day in, day out.

I have a base 2010 MacBook Pro. Six and half years it's still running ok. Ish. (Like poop)

So...Thursday.

I have my 0% credit card.
I have my mind made up.

15" of new MacBook is on my way instantly it's released.

Hold me.

Hey guys, I'm really excited as well. I'm upgrading from a mid-2012 MBA, so I think it's about time. Currently there are two questions on my mind:

- Will they still stick with 128GB storage for the entry level model?
- Will there be a price bump? I think the current 13'' MBP is at 1.449€

To those who aren't anti-Windows/considered Windows - is there anything Microsoft can announce this Wednesday that could convert you into getting the next Surface/Surface Pro?

A lot of rumours about a Surface Phone coming out - if they manage to actually create a decent one, it is food for thought with regards to jumping eco-system.
