How is that different to the aftermath from any other Apple event? ;)
Higher degree of pent up expectation - years in the making :D

that thing they just did with the dial on the screen was amazing.. that actually was a wow moment.. damn...
I know, I saw the video and they put the dial on the screen and started manipulating the images and settings - amazing

do you reckon we'll get a genuine wow moment like that tomorrow?

If you use photoshop, I'm sure it is. Outside of that, I don't see a benefit. Which is pretty sad as Apple hasn't done anything for the Photoshop crowd. Photoshop used to be a staple for Apple products. Anyone that I knew of the last 10 years that wanted to use Photoshop would prefer it on an Apple device. Looks like Microsoft's surface line has changed their minds.

still not impressed with microsoft due to the fact that i don't like windows 10, prefer macOS sierra anyday.

With an unbiased opinion tho everyone needs to congratulate Microsoft for being the only guys who are trying to make hardware that is excepcionally well built and minimalist, just like Apple.

Dell sometimes is refered to as the "windows mac" because of the xps line. I believe surface is the "windows mac".

I do like the emphasis Microsoft is placing on content creation, though; it seems like the Macs are often too focused on media consumption. It would be nice to see some more emphasis on creativity (which is why I wouldn't mind the track-pad having Pencil support).

It would be interesting to see an updated Photoshop or something in the Mac event, rather than a demonstration of the 10 different ways you can watch Netflix...

Congrats Windows users. Here is how you will spend 8-16 hours a day working on your computers. :p

TBH I can imagine it revolutionising the life for many of the paralegals, academics, researchers or anyone else that needs to go through crap loads of documents per day.

A display that can give you a 1:1 ratio for documents + seamless editing with the pen thats far more intuitive than mouse+keyboard (unless you're typing i guess), and the dial to just jump back and forth multiple pages.

+ Other creatives in music / video might find it more convenient since it may eliminate the need to purchase more hardware.

[edit] and the dial works with the rest of the surface lineup.. Why did Apple never think of implementing it's clickwheel on touch screens -_-

Can anyone tell what kind of graphics is in the new surface book? I want to know. I assume it's a custom nvidia chip. but is it based of pascal, like the 10 series?

I'd love to know that my self but all we know is that it's 3x faster than a 13" rMBP... I doubt its based on pascal

[edit] Go vikings! :p

The people here complaining about a product they haven't seen yet are probably the ones that are going to order within the first day lol. Plz do us all a favor and wait until the people that actually have waited/want the mbp to get it first, before you buy! (We all know you will anyway)

No, sadly, the MS Dial is in its very essence innovation, the thin screen is gorgeous and I was critical on Apple making the iMac thinner, get visually the Studio looks wonderful with its thinness.

For tomorrow, we'll get a skylake based laptop with an OLED bar. I hope I'm wrong, because I really want Apple to return to its roots of gorgeous designed products

This is actual innovation in computing that Microsoft are demoing here. If we see thinner MacBook Pros with OLED fn key row and a USB C port stuck on the MacBook Air tomorrow, we will know exactly where the Mac is..

It can just as easily be said to be a gimmick. A lot of it will depend on the amount of software that supports it and how well their implementation is. Same goes for Apples LED strip.

At $3000 the Surface Studio has a huge uphill battle.

Edit: Oops I was looking at the 21" iMac. But still well over $1000 more expensive than the 27"

The 5K iMac starts at literally half the price, and it still has a slightly higher resolution screen (14.7M pixels vs 13.5M)

But I do agree the monitor silhouette and design itself looks good. I'll be in the market for a new screen soon and If MS sold only the screen portion that I could put on a VESA mount I might actually buy a MS product again.
