what's the way to get the VAT back if you are outside EU? is it difficult to do that? You will pay £1,999, or £1,665 if you are outside the EU or ordering through a VAT-registered company in the EU.

It can just as easily be said to be a gimmick. A lot of it will depend on the amount of software that supports it and how well their implementation is. Same goes for Apples LED strip.
At $3000 the Surface Studio has a huge uphill battle.
The 5K iMac starts at literally half the price, and it still has a slightly higher resolution screen (14.7M pixels vs 13.5M)
I agree.. and I think what Satya said on stage right now hits the mark for Apple, the part about how most innovation has been towards consumption. No, sadly, the MS Dial is in its very essence innovation, the thin screen is gorgeous and I was critical on Apple making the iMac thinner, get visually the Studio looks wonderful with its thinness.
For tomorrow, we'll get a skylake based laptop with an OLED bar. I hope I'm wrong, because I really want Apple to return to its roots of gorgeous designed products
if i got it from the presentation, the Studio has a 3:2 screen ratio, iMac is 16:10The 5K iMac starts at literally half the price, and it still has a slightly higher resolution screen (14.7M pixels vs 13.5M)
quad core i7, so i assume it's a 45W chipI'm interested in the specs, I've missed the beginning of the keynote. Is it a 15W Kaby Lake in that thing?

I'm surprised MS is even capable of positioning themselves as the creative company that's for the 'crazy ones'. Sorry to bring this up but Steve really would be pissed right now..

So it's a Skylake?
Yea, Microsoft really is the new taste-maker of creative computer products. I have some use for the Surface Studio, but probably not enough to purchase it. That said, hell of a product for some people I'm sure. No, sadly, the MS Dial is in its very essence innovation, the thin screen is gorgeous and I was critical on Apple making the iMac thinner, get visually the Studio looks wonderful with its thinness.

Edit: Oops I was looking at the 21" iMac. But still well over $1000 more expensive than the 27"

But I do agree the monitor silhouette and design itself looks good. I'll be in the market for a new screen soon and If MS sold only the screen portion that I could put on a VESA mount I might actually buy a MS product again.
Can't believe people are underestimating apple in this thread. tomorrow is going to be epic

Honestly, Apple have had it too easy for too long, almost 0 competition for years (or let's say they were years beyond their competition). The heat from Microsoft is good for all of us, lovers and haters. It'll force Apple to up their game, which they surely can. Their game is to hold off as long as possible, but those days are over. With an unbiased opinion tho everyone needs to congratulate Microsoft for being the only guys who are trying to make hardware that is excepcionally well built and minimalist, just like Apple.
Dell sometimes is refered to as the "windows mac" because of the xps line. I believe surface is the "windows mac".
Microsoft's event WAS the kickI'm rooting for Microsoft. I think tomorrow's event is going to look boring by comparison. Apple needs a swift kick in the behind.
This is all I found so far:When did they say it was quad-core?
Or just to try and overshadow them with the Apple name.. I hope notthere probably is a reason the apple event is tomorrow and after the microsoft event... to overshadow them with better innovations.. i hope![]()
