That sounds likely. Don't they always say "you can begin ordering today"? They might ship out within 2-3 weeks, though.

Can i ask you about what model you're planing to get your hands on?
What are the tasks that you will use your device for? :)

I want a 13" Macbook Pro with at least 256 GB SSD and 16 GB RAM. But maybe a 15" with dGPU.

I will use it like my 2013 rMBP for different things. It has to be a powerful allrounder.

it seems like we are aiming for the same machine. :)
Can't wait to see it today.
Not sure when i buy mine, but i will buy it sooner or later. :apple:

Yes, this might be the solution. I hope for Friday morning in Germany.

Somebody at Cyberport told me, that new products appear right after the presentation in their online shop. So I really hope, they have some in their stores on Friday. They're always 200-400€ cheaper than Apple and I've never made bad experiences with them. You can even return opened Apple products bought in store, which is impossible when you buy at MediaMarkt or Saturn.

Maybe I'll get to Apple Berlin tomorrow.

Then Cyberport must have all informations before the Presentation starts. They have to add all new products to the online store. This will take some time...

I don't believe that...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I have a guest coming tonight at 7pm (exactly when the keynote starts). She's only in Amsterdam until tomorrow morning. I can't move the visit. I also can't tell her "why don't you sit here and read a book while I watch this Apple event".

I AM CURSED.

Mhhhh... I would do it this way... ;-)

It will be really interesting to see how serious Apple is going to take the Pro part in the MBP. The Skylake CPU looks solid enough, but beyond everything can happen. Several things to look out for:

1) dGPU. Will they go for the absolutely best performance/watt ratio or get a meh AMD Polaris part? Top choice would be a nVidia 1050 or the newly updated E9260 PCI-E (Polaris rev 2). A first gen Polaris would be bordering a disappointment IMO.

2) RAM. I don't think we get more than 16 GB on the stock models, but the ability to BTO up to at least 32 GB is important.

3) Keyboard. Yes, the keyboard. The same keyboard as in the rMB would be a dubious move. Personally, I would be ok with an improved version 2 with more travel and possible more solid build.

4) Ports. I think they will go all in on USB-C and while I'm good with that, I can see why a Pro laptop could use at least a vanilla USB 3 port to cut down on all the dongles. I can imagine how I would need 2 or 3 dongles when I visit clients and I'm not sure that would impress them much. But whatever.

Man, my GPU performance increase is going to be off the charts going from a 2012 cMBP to a 2016 15" MBP, even if the pre-built 512/16 is iGPU.

Same, geekbench says the 6770HQ should have around 4-6x the cpu perf of my 2010 rig.

Yes, cyberport is great! However it's usually not far off from the discounted student prices apple offers. Over time cyberport gets more affordable, but I am unsure about new product launches. Any experience?

Bonus for Cyberport: I actually think they might be able to deliver faster if you want a slightly modified version with, let's say, a faster clocked i7. Just in my experience they have more of them in stock then apple somehow.

The keynote happens at 4.30am here in Aus... I plan on being soundly asleep. Hoping that I will be able to purchase one online at around 6.30am when I get up... :)

Pssht, be like me. Having a nap now so I can game from 12am to 4am with my buddies and then watch the keynote :)

Not a fan of the design, but I wouldn't say the worst design i've ever seen :D
They literally just cut the wires off the normal earbuds. No other earbuds look as ridiculous hanging out of your ear. Show me one.
very 2005 wireless bluetooth thingies but even worse.
No real design.. Its horrible in my eyes. One of apples worst designed products imo. i cringe when people tell me they want to buy them and talk everyone out of it.
Can you tell i don't like them?

The word "Pro" has been rather cheap at Apple recently. I was seriously expecting to see an iPhone Pro which would be absolutely ridiculous naming, but wouldn't surprise me.

*pets trackpad* my sweet 2015 rMBP, you're still latest and greatest for 8 hours and 42 minutes. Enjoy your crazy life on top before it ends. Go out, have a drink with @WRONG, just don't catch anything in the Red Light District.

*pets thread* you had a great ride my friends, and I will never forget you for at least two days after the keynote. Shall we all meet in "Waiting For Kaby Lake" thread?

Pro does not mean highest performance or highest number of ports. Frankly, no laptop is going to be a performance replacement for a desktop workhorse. Being lightweight and having a long battery life are two attributes which are also very useful to all sorts of professional users. (I am frequently flying with my MBP for work, for example, so every pound of weight saved is much appreciated.)

I honestly don't know why more people aren't excited about having no dGPU in the MBP, to make it run cooler and for longer, and help it be be made smaller, cheaper and lighter, and then use an eGPU at the office/studio/gaming location when you need maximum grunt. Seems like the best of both worlds to me.

I live in a pretty safe city, but I can imagine places where people will just grab one of them from someone's ear and run away. Will be great for running tho, that's the most exciting product I've seen from Apple in the last 2 years.. which is a bit sad too..
sigh

The last day of this thread(based on the subject), and the first day that I can't keep up with its pace :(
It's been a long wait guys..
I only hope they add 32GB RAM option.

I feel like they'd be terrible for running. They look like they could easily fall out with normal use. Running you can forget about it.
The boxed apple earbuds which are the same thing don't stay in my weird ears(i guess) at all. two semi quick turns and out.
Jaybird freedoms ftw
