Im a little bit jealous. You sir, have a real SD-Card slot. oh I really need and want this. lets see what the new 13" or 15" looks like. If both wont have a SD Card reader, I guess I have to leave the Apple train lol.

LOL, I didn't use the SD card slot on my old MacBook Pro at all. No, going back to a 1080P screen and 15 inch has been a godsend to my eye's...or eye since I don't see much out of one eye. Retina screen was great but the eye strain was getting bad looking at that screen (especially when near a window on a sunny day).

Besides, Future college courses will require a Windows laptop so that made the decision easier.

Briefly, it's safe. I've pushed my 2011 to the limits. Your laptop won't be destroyed.;)
One time 3 years ago I completely choked up my late-2008 MBP (still with original 2GB RAM). I was trying to run a RAM-hungry program within a RAM-hungry virtual machine. My poor MBP sounded like it was about to take off for the sky, then it froze up. Like completely froze up. I came back from lunch an hour later and the clock was still frozen on 10:54 AM hahaha

But it was fine. I shut it down, restarted, and still use the thing today.

20 pages in 12 hours. This has to be the most insane thread ever.

I really wished Sony would have done that with the PS4

X360 used an architecture close to x86 (if not x86 really), so porting to the One's x86 is easier than porting from the PS3's Cell to X86.

Probably the PS4 could play X360 games easier than it can play PS3 games...

Some people use the sd card slot and some don't. I sell a lot of **** online and use my 10 year old dslr to take pictures of the stuff i sell, it's still way better pictures than any mobile camera. Any ways, gonna be triggered when the sd card disappears

Hi guys, I've been lurking on this thread for 2 years-something. I couldn't resist registering just to post a comment on the most epic thread I've ever seen on a forum before it gets shut down :D

I'm typing on a glorious Mid-2009 MacBook Pro 17", which I've used almost every single day since I bought it and dragged everywhere around the world. Literally every significant thing I did during my adult life passed through this device in some form. After 7 and a half year together, the battery is completely shot, every single thing I do makes the fans spin like crazy and the chassis has more signs of wear and tear than I can count. I feel excited, and yet a bit melancholic, knowing that tomorrow I'll press a preorder button to replace this guy after so much time! But I know it's time to let it go.

I don't know whether Apple will disappoint me or not in a few hours. The only thing I know is that this Mac IS FINALLY COMING, and that I'm going to buy it, fully maxed-out.

so i never got an answer for this question... what cable accessories will i need if its all usb c?

i use my iphone/ipad for syncing, flash drive and external hard drive for backing up data & photos from my mac, and a sd card for transferring photos to my mac.

I have a guest coming tonight at 7pm (exactly when the keynote starts). She's only in Amsterdam until tomorrow morning. I can't move the visit. I also can't tell her "why don't you sit here and read a book while I watch this Apple event".

I AM CURSED.

you could invite her to watch it with you. however beware she might believe this is a "Netflix and chill" session and things might get out of hand. GL

Don't really know until they're announced... You'll probably need a few USB-C / A adapters (Cheap on eBay and stuff) to tide you over, then likely you'll be buying USB-C stuff in the future so won't be an issue. For the SD reader you'll possibly need an adapter too, again depending on what's released.

The beauty of USB-C is the power and adaptability of it though, so your best best is just to grab a hub with all those features built in. Much nicer than having dongles and wires hanging out everywhere!

What config is everyone getting? Still undecided between a top spec (i7/512/16gb) 13 inch or a mid level 15 inch (i7/512/16gb/dGPU) 15 inch owners, how do you find portability and noise levels? (with a dgpu)

soooooooOOOOO READY! I'll be checking my local Apple Store periodically during the keynote. Keep ya'll updated!
