I'd think technically you could, but I think Apple would have to support it and drivers would have to be available. Razer said they'd allow any maker to work with them to bring support to other laptops so Apple would need to work with them. So that being said, I won't hold out hope that it happens.

i don't think apple will work with a company that copied its laptop designs

There's a voice inside my head that's hoping for no release today to make this thread last eternally!

After the Event a clever forum Admin will change the “Skylake” in the thread title to “Kaby Lake” or “Cannonlake” or whatever. So, nothing will happen. Maybe the post frequency will drop a bit for the next two weeks.

Guys this is ACTUALLY happening. I remember like it was yesterday when I opened the page at 689 and wondered "wow so many pages, surely this mbp is coming out soon.

Every morning I would lie in bed and read all the messages from the last 23 hrs and I've been doing that for what seems like an eternity.

Been a pleasure serving with you folks, hopefully I see you guys around these parts on our shiny new MacBooks :)

I hope apple goes with the right company and uses nvidia as their dgpu over amd...I never heard good stuff about AMD

Then we got "Waiting for Ricky Lake" right after.

Ah yes, because Apple newer copies successful designs to improve upon them...ever.
Look, I have a lot of money invested in Apple HW, but it's far from perfect and I would actually like if they copied where needed more i.e. put a decent dGPU and proper cooling like Razer did?

But I agree, Apple probably wouldn't work with them, just saying it's hypocritical of them and detrimental to the customer.

I bought a MacBook Pro in October 2015 but returned it 2 weeks later because I figured Apple would be updating soon. Somehow I ended up waiting a whole year for the update and now it's finally here. Who would've thought it would take this long? I'd wake up and check this thread every morning. It's been an emotionally frustrating but fun year reading everyone's posts. Didn't think there were people like me eagerly waiting for the update. Hope the thread is still up so we can post pictures of our initial unboxing but if not, good luck to all of you in getting your shiny new Macs! We did it!

today is the day! :D unfortunately i'm still waiting for my apple gift card to use to purchase mine. it has been processing since 2am wednesday. they better hurry up so i can purchase once the event is over!

I very much doubt we'll see an instore release tomorrow. The legistics behind organising such an event without any leaks are almost impossible. The new units would have been showing up in distrubution centres over the past week and I'm sure some low level Apple Store employee or distribution worker would have run his mouth by now.

In my opinion we'll see order now shipping in two weeks.
I'm inclined to agree, I was just pointing out if anything it would be today that boxes would be getting delivered. However, I imagine all the boxes are sealed and stamped to make sure they aren't opened.

seeing that photo of the apple store in new york and remembering the last night, there was actually line dividers there too ... **** man i should have took a photo.

well its in the middle of the city, there is no way they can deliver during daytime here. it has to be at nighttime so maybe thats why.

Probably will reply on post after I post this..unless they shut this thread down (hope not)

As someone who used to own a MacBook pro but switch to windows (dell xps), I would like to thank you guys for allowing me to continue to post and give my opinions.

Even though I did switch over, I am still very much interested on what Apple announces today when it comes to their 15 inch MacBook Pro's and hope all of you get the MacBook Pro quickly and enjoy it.

TBH I don't recall a retail level leak post AE so maybe they modified the backroom system to ensure further security.

I'm just wondering though, the line dividers are a bit premature no? If they're launching it today then how would you imagine them displaying the newer models?

I've been trying to figure that out and see if there's any plausible scenario that could tempt me to go out to London but I just can't see how they would flip in the middle of a keynote from one version to another. Surely they'd have to ask the customers to leave for like an hour? I tried calling in and asking but no concrete answers, just the usual 'we know as much as you do' spiel.

Im a little bit jealous. You sir, have a real SD-Card slot. oh I really need and want this. lets see what the new 13" or 15" looks like. If both wont have a SD Card reader, I guess I have to leave the Apple train lol.

Why do they close the store when I'm at my work? Way too excited to continue working right now. I'll tell my boss he can send a claim to Tim Cook since I'm no longer productive right now.

today is probably my last day with my current macbook pro early 2015 model. i am suppose to be handing it over to a family member who wants it.. they still giving me $$$$ for it. hopefully i wont be too long without a mac.
