Wait wait, I see they are still selling the base last years models for 1299 and 1999, couldn't they at least lower their price a bit or upgrade their processors? Or put a 256SSD instead of 128GB in the 13’ model? I guess they are the new cMBP but I don't think the smaller model is really appealing at only 128GB...

Now I see what Apple is doing, keep the old models at their original prices. Release the new models at new higher prices

AMD 460 has 4 GB, but only comes with 15" max model.

Nope, they are using high clocked "normal" quadcores without Iris graphics.


So they:
- increased prices
- didn't increase battery life
- didn't release a 32 GB model
- only made a 13" Pro with regular function keys, not a 15"

Basically it's just more graphics performance and thinner...

No 32 GB ram isn't very future proof or courageous Apple. Yeah let's go all USB-C but keep ram amounts from years ago...

Still getting it but that's the one thing that pisses me off. Also should be 512 by default in the 15"

The are still selling the base old models but have increased the prices in the UK.
The 13" has gone from £999 to £1249 and the 15" from £1599 to £1899.

Yup, I'm out. Had a 4k laptop in my bag with 16gb and a r460 WITH an edu discount.

On a side note, can you edit 4k video with the previous base model retina 15?

interesting thing I noticed is that when I select the base model 15" MBP and I apply the more expensive processor and the 460m dGPU and compare it to the higher model 15" with just the upgraded dGPU they're the same price with the only difference being the 512gb vs. 256gb
While the base model also has a better CPU.

Both are 3052 Euros (edit: this is student pricing)

Am I overlooking something?
