Can someone verify: Is the touch bar OLED or not?

Yes.

If only apple could be more consistent and honest about their magical moment talks:

"I'm proud to announce our new macbook pro's have the highest starting price ever. No other macbook pro ever had such a high price, it's amazing. Look how high the prices go for these small upgrades, it's absolutely wonderful. Up to 150% more expensive than previous macbook pro's. No other laptops even come close to this amount of money. Truly magical." Insider crowd claps furiously.

Post of the day!

Yup, you now have to pay around £90/£100 for it.

I think many are forgetting this, assuming they have the 3 year warranty, when in fact it's only 1!

We can just purchase this as an add on before its' 1 year birthday right? I didn't get Apple Care but I feel like I should after splashing so much.

So you reccomend the 460?
Most likely - yes. Because the games will require currently more than 2 GB of VRAM. You can check current and latest benchmarks comparing performance of the same GPU, but with 2 and 4 GB of VRAM. Its a hell of a difference, especially in every post-Mantle Low-Level API, like Vulkan, Metal, DirectX 12.

13" no Touch Bar + 16 GB OR 13" Touch Bar base model (It's around the same price)?

I actually don't know how big the difference of the processor and MHz of the RAM will be. Someone please enlighten me

No one on the same boat or someone who can help me out here? The thing is I don't really care about the Touch Bar but this change in processor, RAM MHz and GPU is the question

its not like you'd play a game like that on the go. just keep her plugged in. and the new fans seem pretty awesome so they should keep up.
if the low profile fans are similar to those on the previous macbook pros... good luck with that. And since the body is aluminium, it's not gonna feel good when things get hot

BUT ironically the good thing is the fact that its just a RX450/460, there's not much raw power anyway so temps shouldnt be a problem

Previous gen's base prices:

Prices now:
$1799 for 13-inch base model
$2399 for 15-inch base model

$400 PRICE INCREASE FOR THE TOUCH BAR
Who's going to pony up? :)

The base 15" also includes a dGPU.

Looking at the speeds, cache and iGPU, it's probably the 6700HQ and 6820HQ for the non upgraded versions. Then again, maybe they got some custom chips from Intel, who knows. Guess we'll find out as soon as people get their new laptops.

If you can overlook OS X, gaming on a Windows PC can be accomplished for 1/3 the price / similar performance.

Hey UK peeps, I feel for you, but the fact of the matter is your currency isn't worth as much anymore. Don't get mad at Apple. Get upset with what your own people choose.

utter cr@p... I live in Northern Ireland so just took the liberty of checking out the ie web prices (you know, the part that didnt do Brexit as it wasnt part of the UK)... guess what.. my priced up MAXED out 15" mbp which costs £4k would cost me an EXTRA £550 at current Sterling to Euro exchange JUST for the priviledge of buying in Euro...

.. thats Apple taking the proverbial.. nothing more. And thats what its CHOOSING to do.. whats the argument for that? the only stable currency is the dollar.. right before a presidential election?!?!?

I know that perfectly well. I am now building low power/high performance computer based on Intel i7 6700T and XFX Radeon RX 470 4GB, for 1080p Gaming with Freesync.

That's true. The entry 13-inch model takes the heaviest price hike however, at at a cool $500 ($1299 to $1799) with the touch bar. Apple raised the entry barrier, I wonder how it will play out on the sales figures.

It's gotta be the 6700HQ, and if so, I think they messed up on the website and it really has DDR4 if it's running at 2133MHz.

Still dumbfounded we don't get the 6770 for those prices.
