This right here is gonna keep me up every night for the next two weeks. They went with the 2015 skylakes! The GOD DAMN 2015s!!!!!
And Kaby Lake is EXACTLY the same architecture with only 200 MHz bump in clocks. They are not different in any way, shape or form, apart from the clocks.

What do you loose by going 2015? Nothing at all.

I'm going to wait and see them in person. Maybe I will want one; I'm happy with my 2013 15".
Don't need ugly adapters ($50), and save a huge bundle.

Time for the 'waiting for Kaby' thread :)

Hope you realize that it has no Touch ID, a slower processor, only 2 ports, and slower GPU... That's not the model I would recommend.

Judging by the CPU speed and ddr3 ram on the base non touch base 13", I have a feeling it's a Haswell on that model while others are on Skylake

Most likely - yes. Because the games will require currently more than 2 GB of VRAM. You can check current and latest benchmarks comparing performance of the same GPU, but with 2 and 4 GB of VRAM. Its a hell of a difference, especially in every post-Mantle Low-Level API, like Vulkan, Metal, DirectX 12.
So you would recommend this config?

I know that perfectly well. I am now building low power/high performance computer based on Intel i7 6700T and XFX Radeon RX 470 4GB, for 1080p Gaming with Freesync.

That's awesome, good luck with your PC build. I think I'll get the PS4 Pro for my gaming needs, good fidelity 1080p gaming for $399. Can't go wrong with that.

At least that's an up to date computer, the 3 year old Mac Pro has just gone up by £500.

raping and pillaging is my observation and its nothing to do with F.Ex fluctuations as I just suggested in my previous post... I thought the M$ prices were a little high (in exchange rate from the dollar terms) and they've not even announced the real UK prices yet but THIS!

It does raise the question of what the delay was for Skylake. The story was always they were waiting for Iris Pro version to be available in volume...

Yeah fat load that all was. They were waiting to perfect the touch bar. Gimmicks come first with Apple. We should all know that by now.

I'm not saying the touch bar won't be cool, but come on, it's the primary point of this upgrade and for some people it will just be a gimmick.

I'm jumping the xps boat. them prices are through the roof. Probably gonna get the €2049,00, which i can get €100 off with a coupon. So it'd be €1949. Go for it?

It's gotta be the 6700HQ, and if so, I think they messed up on the website and it really has DDR4 if it's running at 2133MHz.

Still dumbfounded we don't get the 6770 for those prices.
If you get dGpu there is NO benefits from 6770 over 6700.

The first one. Its not worth that 80$ uplift.

Iris Pro 580!!! Means if I run anything that the 530 can't handle my battery will plummet.

So.... while everyone is going crazy about the prices.

for those who watched the keynote, did they mentioned what are the options should the Touchbar fails? I mean they moved all the function keys AND the ESC key there

In 10.12.1 you can remap the esc key.
