Apple will have a march event for sure, but only the macbook is for sure to be upgraded..
Aren't all of the components for the 13" pretty much available by now?Macbook March...maybe another size added, redesigned 15" Pro WWDC, redesigned 13" fall. *shrugs*

the parts for macbook pro 13" and macbook are already available , the 15" needs the iris pro thats all
Exactly! this what I have been waiting for since they did the tick refresh in JuneSeriously Apple and Intel, all I want is a refreshed 15" with a 6850HQ, Intel Iris Pro 580, a 950/960M,and DDR4 RAM. I don't want want a thinner chassis where it throttles and has 6-7 hours of battery life. Not sure why this is the most difficult sh*t to do in the history of tech.
Yeah, it's pretty annoying.Exactly! this what I have been waiting for since they did the tick refresh in June
But we don't want Broadwell. Hence the title of this thread.Yeah, it's pretty annoying.
I can understand (not that i agree) slightly older tech for the non 'pro' models - eg the gf couldn't give a rats about the specs, she just says gimme the current mac, but it's disappointing that Apple treats the 'Pro' crowd like this. People spending 3/4/5k on a MBP are the ones that WILL look at what's inside and be very disappointed at the moment in terms of the age of the cpu etc.
I know it's partly/mostly Intels fault in terms of delays and without looking back into it, we should at be able to buy a quad broadwell 15" (i'm just speaking logically not what is or isn't physically or technically possible)
Oh, totally 100% agree! All i meant was, Broadwell should not have been skipped, like a buyer weighs up need=buy now, want=potentially wait for an update etc etc, Apple should not have played the skipping a generation game (again, i'm just speaking logically not what is or isn't physically or technically possibleBut we don't want Broadwell. Hence the title of this thread.

Plot twist: At the March event Apple releases updated 15" rMBP but with Broadwell instead of Skylake.
Stranger things have happened!

Please dont
I am of the opinion that Apple did this on purpose, so that when the all-new 15" flagship product is shown off with Skylake, Phil will show a slide showing the difference in performance between the old and new, and the only way to show a decent jump in performance would have been to hold back on the CPU since the first Haswell version came out.Oh, totally 100% agree! back OT, gimme my Skylake MBP already!![]()

We're getting more to the point of diminishing returns that you have to have some smoke and mirrors approach in showing off new hardware to keep up the impact of introducing a new product.
Yeah, definitely! If that happens hopefully someone shouts out (with a megaphone) something like 'no sh*t Sherlock....2015 tech is better than 2013 tech!'![]()
dreams... hopefully they dont switch 3.5mm into lightning hereWhat should happen: No more Air, spec bump rMB, thinner 13" rMP with sky lake, smaller screen bezel, 4 thunderbolt 3 with usbc, drop all other ports but headphone jack, thinner 15" with sky lake, smaller screen bezel, independent gpu, 4K screen, 4 thunderbolt 3 usbc, headphone jack, and SD card reader.....that 4K on a 15" should be the new standard for a 15" apple laptop and next year add it to the 13"
Meanwhile there is still nothing for the March Event, at least we have a little bit more information about the date of the WWDC 2016.
