I went to the Dell website and still can't find this $500 difference, but I digress. This part of the discussion is moot anyway, since we both agree that the rMBP is outdated and thus overpriced. Not sure why we are still discussing this.

So you haven't actually been using OS X, but basing off other people's opinion. You can't base off a forum, in-general. The majority of the people who joined the forum did so because they are having issues. A forum is simply not a good representation. The latest version of OS X is also always going to have the most bugs. With that said, I also haven't heard of any issues about OS X from my friends and colleagues either, since we are throwing anecdotes around. A colleage of mine did buy an XPS 13 out of my recommendation and did have a few driver issues with W10, but other than that its been pretty quiet.

Sorry, but I've seen Surface Pros, Books, PCs, and my iMac BSOD on W7/8/10 and I've been using W10 since the technical preview. More than likely, I suspect something got damaged/misaligned/unseated when my house got broken into and my gaming PC was turned over. Its not like I'm saying W10 is a bad OS, but it's not perfect just like OS X isn't perfect. I've seen way more game-breaking issues with Windows 10 than I have seen with OS X. Oh, and Yes I build PCs myself. However, since we don't know each other's experience and just out of general principle I'll choose not to be the condescending ass-hole.

So... a forum from a lot of final end users and my friends experience over a final-end user product isn't a good representation, but your experience with technical preview and broken PC was. Right? LOL another user I'm not trying to discuss anymore.

Lets go back to the topic.

I've been using Windows 10 SINCE the technical preview, not JUST the technical preview. You are either purposely jumping around my points, or just lack basic reading comprehension. I've been running Windows 10 on my iMac and Macbook Pro, as well as a colleage's XPS 13 which SHIPPED with W10. Same with my (now)friend from my Structural Engineering class who eventually returned his Surface Book from all the issues.

Yes, lets go back to topic. I refuse to discuss any more of this.

I am here to help you out. In this thread some pragmatism is missing. That's why I am here for you today.

The new Macbook Pro will have:

  • All-Day-Batterylife
  • 16 hours of Web-Browsing
  • 8 hours of video editing in FCP
  • fully charged within 3,5 hours

User Input Peripheral

  • Magic Keyboard
  • a bigger ForceTouch trackpad
  • FaceTime HD camera (not much changes here, better low light behavior)
  • Finger Print sensor built right there where you open the Macbook with your finger (to of the lit, about there where the facetime camera is right now)

Connection Peripheral

  • 4 USB 3/C/Thunderbolt connectors (replacing 2 Thunderbolt and 2 USB connectors)
  • SDHX card slow
  • MagSafe
  • Headphone Jack

Processor and architecture
  • RAM: 8GB, 16GB, 32GB (the latter is only available with the 16" model)

  • Intel SkyLake i7-6770HQ, i7-6870HQ, i7-6970HQ for the 16" model

Prices and Release Date
  • 14" starting at 1299

OLED display? Though I'm doubtful since they are having a hard enough time procuring OLED displays for iPhones let alone MacBooks. Though at CES this year there were a handful of companies announcing their range of ultra books/laptops would carry an optional OLED display for an unannounced premium cost. I would imagine all computers will eventually head this way (except maybe the MacBook Air if it sticks around for some strange reason sporting a TN panel....), and even the tiny Apple Watch screen is an OLED display.

Dreams, dreams, dreams.

Does apple usually bring out more accessories for new macbooks? would love to get a carrybag/case for it when I buy, if not what third party carrybags/cases do you guys recommend?

Yes, there are plenty of reasons to like me.

Finally I am ready to unveil the new resolution for the new models:

14"
2560 *
4096 Pixels
aka. The "Retina 4K Display"

16"

2880 *
4608 Pixels

Also, the new colors:
  • Space Gray
  • Gold
  • Rosé Gold
  • Silver (looks like current one)
Please note, also for other colors the bezel will always be black, as well as the keyboard. The color is only the back side of the lit and the the unibody.
The Apple will still glow. Please stop spreading wrong information on that!

Design / Form factor:

Not much will be changed here. I will respect that this forum is for the rMBP and not for other Macbook redesign unveilments.
Of course, the color. Of course, the bezels.
The dimensions will stay the same, because of bigger screen -> smaller bezels as explained before.
There will be some necessary changes for the USBC/Thunderbolt3 ports, of course they have a different form factor.

Also, don't forget to include the information from my last post:

And who are you?

No they're not.
- NVidia GPU GTX950M or above are impossible, except Apple somehow manage to make a better thermal dissipation.
- 16-32 gb ram are unlikely.
- longer battery life is probable, because Skylake is more efficient than Haswell.
- not having 256 GB of storage would mean having less option, so yet unlikely.

Speaking of Polaris, I really doubt we're gonna see it until June.
From the video and the informations we got for now, Polaris is far more efficient than NVidia, but equally faster.
Which is really great.
But still, those are just tiny bits of informations, we need to wait for more speculation.

Meanwhile... ****youapplewherethehellaretheskylakermbpjustreleasethemforgodsake!

The polaris chip that would go in macbooks was already demoed to press(but were under NDA until CES in january) in early december. Samples have been flying around way before that, so it should be earlier than June.

AMD showed off functional Polaris silicon with multiple working devices in early December. It wasn’t rough, it wasn’t a static demo, it had drivers, cards, and all the things you would expect from non-first silicon.

https://semiaccurate.com/2016/02/01/news-of-nvidias-pascal-tapeout-and-silicon-is-important/

At its suite at CES this year, AMD was showing off a couple of new technologies. First, we got to see the upcoming Polaris GPU architecture in action running Star Wars Battlefront with some power meters hooked up. This is a similar demo to what I saw in Sonoma back in December

Definitely trolling. Not surprising at all given his user account was created yesterday.

The biggest clue to his lies is his proposed screen resolutions:
14": 2560 * 4096 Pixels
16": 2880 * 4608 Pixels

The max resolution the Skylake U/HQ chips with Iris 550/Iris Pro 580 support is 4096 x 2304 @ 60Hz. I'm not aware of any Skylake laptops that top Ultra HD (3840 x 2160), even gaming rigs like Alienware's 17" lineup. There's no way Apple gets 4608 x 2880 into a 16" MBP without a dGPU, and as has been rehashed ad nauseum in this forum, it's at least questionable if we'll even get a dGPU in a high end model.

Hello everyone, today I bring big news.
I know a trustable *source*
Well, I don't know it personally. Let's just say...

e7tlfi.jpg

So he tolds me that the new rMBP will feature:
- the Skylake CPU we were waiting for months and which we already discussed and knew the names and specs
- the connections that we already discussed tons of times on this thread and we're all waiting for
- the colors that Apple is using for all its other products
- smaller bezels like everyone in the past four months have stated/hoped
- guess what?! A slimmer body! Yeah because Apple this time is going backwards and making computer thinner, nor thicker
- Improved performance, because as you know using a better CPU always means ugly battery life, especially when the claimed CPU is focus on power saving
- a trackpad
- for the first time on an Apple device: a keyboard.
and still a couple of features that were already discussed, supposed and predicted on this thread months ago.

Hope that this was useful to you all.
Let's wait for March now
