SO SICK OF WAITING FOR MBP!!!!!

there still isn't any news about release date for MBP.... Sigh I hope its not June. Tired of this rumors.

What I want!!

MBP 15 with nvidia Graphics at least GTX 950 and over!
16-32gb ram
longer battery life
500-1tb ssd.

possibly thinner design if it doesn't cause problem for above requirements ;(

I think they're reasonable expectations. I also imagine the TB ports will be replaced by USB-C ports compatible with TB3.

What if AMD Polaris will be faster than GTX 950M? A lot faster. What if it will be possible in the second, higher end tier MBP 15 inch?

Why people are so attached to brand?

I think they're reasonable expectations.

No they're not.
- NVidia GPU GTX950M or above are impossible, except Apple somehow manage to make a better thermal dissipation.
- 16-32 gb ram are unlikely.
- longer battery life is probable, because Skylake is more efficient than Haswell.
- not having 256 GB of storage would mean having less option, so yet unlikely.

Speaking of Polaris, I really doubt we're gonna see it until June.
From the video and the informations we got for now, Polaris is far more efficient than NVidia, but equally faster.
Which is really great.
But still, those are just tiny bits of informations, we need to wait for more speculation.

Meanwhile... ****youapplewherethehellaretheskylakermbpjustreleasethemforgodsake!

Been silently reading this thread for what seems to be forever. Like most of you I follow every tidbit of information about the possible March event revealing of new MBP. I'm a graphics designer and I've been working on Mac since I started my business 7 years ago. I love the operating system and the build quality of Apple products, BUT... a few days ago a friend of mine came over with his shiny new DELL XPS 15 fully decked out, skylake edition. 512 PCIe SSD, 4K screen (what a panel!!) and 16 GB of Ram. 3,5 GHz Quad Skylake Processors and all you could wish for... honestly I just thought: WHY oh WHY must windows be SUCH CRAP? I hate windows with a passion but if I didn't I'd switch sides again in an instant. I'm mostly working with Adobe Creative Cloud anyways and the experience in there is similar. And boy is that thing fast.

I can't take any more waiting. March Event I AT LEAST want a definitive release date.

15" MBP basemodel starts with 16 GB RAM and the maxed out model ends with 16 GB RAM, so I think 32 GB RAM are not unlikely to happen.

I know right? How is it not likely if its already happened lol.

Can you share your story Killawat?

Yes.

I had the 2008 MBP , released right before the first Unibody Macbook Pros. I wasn't jealous tho, mine had the matte display for free. Anywho, its been a while but I believe I had issues with the CD drive, 8600m graphics card and some screen issues, basically there was really bad imperfections in the center of the display which manifest out of nowhere. I took it to the same apple store each time and by the last time they say "Hey Killawat, back again?" I say look, my video is acting up again, is there anything we can do this ;) . And so on and so fourth.

I don't think I would have gotten the same treatment if I would've sent it in each time. Since the genius bar was local I think they were happier to assist.

Yeah I never sent the past ones in and when going into the store it's a lot more personal.

The Macbook Air/_ /Pro line is a mess right now. I can't imagine Apple continuing to ignore this. Maybe some sort of merge between the Air and _ line, with the high end Pro on top??

Sigh...I hate speculating...

Exactly this!

If it wasnt for the OS, I would have jumped on a XPS 15" a loooong time ago. They are AMAZING... But I just cant get my head around Windows. I recently had to work for 2 weeks with a Windows 10 machine... Oh my God what a pain in the ass of a OS.

It sucks, because hardware wise some Windows laptops can give Apple laptops a run for their money. But no spec in the world can overcome the OS gap, so I guess Im stuck with Apple amd the waiting ;(

Yeah Windows it super lame!

Okay, maybe my statement was somewhat misleading.
What I wanted to say is:
Current gen starts with 16 GB and ends with 16 GB, no higher or lower options available, allthough the CPU supports up to 32 GB of RAM. Sounds stupid, right? Considering the Skylake CPUs will support up to 64 GB of RAM it's even more unlikely that Apple won't give us a 32 GB option.

Anyone commenting on MBP 2016 features and release should be considered highly suspect unless it's from MacRumors (obv), 9to5 Mac or maybe even Taiwan economic daily news, and I think BGR. Anything that is or references Latinos post is fiction.

Look at the last paragraph in this article:

Apple Inc. might also integrate some of the features that are already visible in the 2015 MacBook laptop. These include the USB Type-C port with Thunderbolt and the Force Touch trackpad. The soon-to-be released MacBook Pro laptops will also ship with the current OS X El Capitan.

Um What? The Macbook 12" doesn't have Thunderbolt, i'll forgive that. But to say that the 2016 MBP Might have the Force Touch because the Macbook does is unforgivable. The 2015 already has it so it will be brought over, just like Multi Touch back in the day.

Regarding a redesign and not just a Skylake bump:

I would love a removal of most of the bezel on the 15" and thus a pretty significant reduction of the laptop's overall footprint.

A different keyboard feel. I don't have much experience with the MacBook keyboard or any experience with the new Magic keyboard, but I'm interested how they could switch up the layout and feel of the mbp.

USB-C for future compatibility and port reduction of course.

All the benefits of Skylake as discussed.

Similar RAM, storage, battery life as it stands currently is fine with me, not that I'd turn down more hours.

Now into the fantastic- Colour! I don't need different colour options so much, but wouldn't it be cool if they shifted the whole line away from the typical silver, say to space grey and removed the glowing logo. Moving into fantastically insane: imagine a Mac Pro inspired gunmetal paint job, albeit more matte as shiny like that would be retarded for obvious reasons.

Not predictions, just Xmas list.

My thoughts..

'Staff Writer' cant even get the spacing between paragraphs right. I have little faith in the contents of the article.

Can we just conclude that unless there aren't any rumors nothing will happen in March?

Those are false news.
At first look this Lawyerherald doesn't seems a trustable source.
But most important, its references are Latinos Healt, Ecumenical News and Gospel Herald, which are nothing more than clickbait websites.

Aren't there other sources for this March rumor ?

Apple and Steve Jobs had particularly gone on record that we Apple have already carried out a lot of test in our lab to to check the feasibility and ease of use regrading touch screen laptops and it just turns out that it is a very uncomfortable and absolutely non-user friendly experience to have a touch screen on your laptop, with again your hands going on the keyboard and on the screen to touch it, for ease of use it just dosen't make sense. I don't think Apple is going to bring out their 2016 laptops with touch screen, and if anybody claims it, that's just downright false and rubbish !!

Where did everyone go? I need my daily speculation fix!
Weekends generally see less action. Everybody is out enjoying themselves. They will be back as soon as they are @work.
