I get enough windows on my work computer, just plain pissing me off, if just for stupid over numerous confirmations for closing down.
But for sure the finder could get some improvements on OS X.

Nope, aint happening. WWDC it is.

They have to update & announce 4 OS this year:- OSX, iOS, watchOS, tvOS.

So my belief is that they will announce OSX during march event and others are announced during wwdc.

Moreover, There is nothing special being announced at march event like upgraded 2yr old 5s, some watch bands, and upgraded internals of iPad.

SO MBP can be the one more thing according to me.

OSX leaks coming too early, Maybe apple will announce the new OSX in march event along with new macbooks
Not much of a leak "New OS X better than old one" is basically all the article says.

Just because you're not interested in the iPad and smaller iPhone, doesn't mean Apple doesn't find them special.

If the update doesn't happen in March and is left for June (which by the way things are unfolding is now likely) some heads here will explode....This thread will be full of childish tantrums, whining and crying after the event, so to minimise this I humbly suggest to get Valium and take 1 or 2 pills before the keynote....you know, just in case.

Or they could simply watch this video to improve their lives after the existential nightmare that becomes their living hell. Just to lighten things up a bit.

What all is happening in March Event? iPad Air 3, 4-inch iPhone, that doesn't seem like enough for an event. So that leads me to believe, that there will be new Macs. However, since there have been so few rumors, leaks, anything lately is leaving me very skeptical.

Also I will be receiving vaio z flip tomorrow. So if anyone wants to know anythign in particular about the performance of iris 550. Let Me know.

To heat up some things: AMD GPUs on Amazon are mostly out-of stock or vanishing. Looks like AMD is draining the supplies of old GPUs in preparation for Polaris.

Looks like that Polaris may launch way earlier than anyone expected...

We'll just have to wait and see my friend.

It'd be great to see some benchmark results! Single core performance etc. if possible and if you want/have time hahaha

"If" there plans were to wait till June, why not update the 15" mbp to broadwell along with the iMacs during fall of 2015. If the cpu's are there no need to wait just to integrate Touch ID, they could add that to there test dummy MacBook and see how it fairs.

I won't even be disappointed if we get a mbp in March with no redesign, most important thing for me is skylake / USB-C / TB3. I need a laptop with a dGpu and while the current machine would suffice it's just a tad outdated and way over priced.

I would suggest something even more relaxing than Valium, which could be easily found near Amsterdam...
But, you know, that's just my opinion, man...

Oh hello again Franku.
I was wondering what is worse: Filthy Frank challenges OR waiting for Skylake?

BTW sometimes I don't understand some of the users of this thread...
Ok, I understand, you want so bad the new MBP and you're like, acting as your life depends on when Apple will release this damn new MBP, and seriously, I feel you, because I can't wait to have one of them in my hands so I can start working seriously, but... are you really so tense about them? I'm still working on my old 2009 MBP, which sucks, but hell, guys.
Relax. Take a deep breath. If you really need so much a new computer, take one now. If not, calm down.
Smoke weed (if you're allowed to).
Reeeeeeeelaaaax....
and

There is no indication of Nvidia GPUs apart from Kepler ones in OS X builds.

P.S. For those who would like to understand why it is better to have AMD hardware now i suggest reading this whole thread: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2462951
And paying attention to posts from Zlatan and Mahigan.
Zlatan is PS4 game developer, and Mahigan brought a lot of understanding on the matter of both architectures.

The problem with AMD cards is that their driver support is terrible to say the least. Their cards run hotter than nvidias; in other words that means a decrease in battery life and throttling in a laptop. Apart from that I am cool with AMD.

I will wait to see Polaris and Pascal. Then and only then we may say which one is better suited.

Are we expecting the rMBPs to do away with USB ports for that stupid USB-C connector that will force use of an adapter every time we want to use a USB drive or SD card?

Apple writes their own drivers for OS X. They probably get a lot of help from third party companies, but they def have their hand directly in the driver.

Read the thread. All has been explained. And no. It not any longer matter of "bad drivers".

You guys are gonna kill me... but to past the time until skylake rMBP, I've done a quick hackintosh to test OS X El Captain, and I find it really obsolete in design terms compared to the new W10 UI (the parts that aren't in beta lol) and APPs ie Photos vs Photos, iTunes vs Groove also after 5 minutes trying to get some APPs (word) in Safari I get infected WTF never had a virus in 8 years. The dock bar is far behind from W10 taskbar for example when you pin APPs, OS X doesn't show recent files used for the APP. You can unistall APPs like chess I mean seriously? There's no right click create document (I use this a lot) only folders,

I don't know, please someone tell if I'm doing something wrong, or anything of this is due the hackintosh, because if not I think they really need to do some heavy work cleaning the Finder, Dock, and the general design of the UI and APPs on OS X 10.12 ... The hardware is beautifull, and I can't find anything better in other brands (I hate the carbon fiber), but after testing the software I'm not sure if I should keep waiting at this point...

Are you loading Microsoft Word in Safari? There's obviously something going on, but it's not a problem with OS X as I use the full office suite in Safari without any issues.

As for showing recent files, I see recent files in almost every app I use (Microsoft Office, Pages, Numbers, Safari, etc). That feature is dependent on the developer configuring their app to display recent docs. It's the same exact thing in all Windows versions. Many older legacy apps I used in Windows don't show anything when right clicking the icon in the task bar.

I'm also able to right click without any issue. I'd bet it's more of a hackintosh issue then it is an OS X issue.

nah the pros will retain full size usb ports for a few more years

I hope they go TB3/USBC only. It's bound to happen eventually.

March event:
iPad Air 3, iPhone 5se, watchbands, updated MacBooks 12 and 14 inch

WWDC:
new MacBook Pro 16 inch, new MacPro, new Mac Mini and news iOS and OSX

Why are y'all saying June like the lack of rumors is any indication. I'm not saying March is 200% more likely. Historically, anything BEFORE JUNE is much more likely to happen because there has never been a year between Macbook updates. Only a few days ago did we even enter the realm of this 2015 mac being the "longest running release" of the past few years. Statistically the next few months are golden for a rls.

I'm looking at March and anything other than march with 50-50 odds.

absence of evidence != evidence of absence

1) Yes. 2) They have USB-A to USB-C cables so that you won't need an adapter 3) Sd cards aren't the same as USB.

I highly doubt this.

USB-A to USB-C is still an adapter. I suppose people's concerns are when you carry around USB drives that have the connector built in (like USB sticks). To me, it's not that big a deal to just carry a small 6" adapter.
