How do you know they worked on it?Why do we have to wait longer for a redesign?
Apple has already worked on it for years, so March would be a great date to release it!

Yea, they got 4 years to work on their new design even if it exist or not, and since the chips for 15" are "released" on Jan 28th, Apple must have got the prototypes since November or even October. Why do we have to wait longer for a redesign?

Honestly, the latter. I'm only buying one computer, so I'd rather just have the redesign.he point of refreshing now was outlined in my post. Would you rather have nothing until the summer/fall or a refresh now and then a redesign in the summer/fall?
Oh thanks.
You may want to look up the definition of "directly." If two devices are connected by a single cable, and there is no device in between them, they are connected "directly."
1. In a direct line or manner; straight: The road runs directlynorth.
2. Without anyone or anything intervening: directly responsible.
If one thing or person interacts directly with another thing or person, there is nothing or nobody between them.
So no, if you have a cable that can connect two things directly, it's not an adapter. It's a cable.
USB-C is better because it's reversible, faster, and smaller. For the devices I need to use that have USB-A, I can get an adapter or new cables for (Mostly external HDDs).
You're free to keep thinking that. It's still an adapter..
What has? The theoretical device hooking up to my Macbook Pro? By that logic, the USB-A to USB-A cable that the device comes with is also an adapter, unless I can stick a hard drive in a USB port.it has been adapted to fit another port that it is not able to fit without.
No one said it would. I said the technology (USB-C) is faster.USB-C will not make your existing devices any faster.
Well, technically their vocabulary. How I went from waiting on a new computer to worrying about other peoples grammar.
This would be too quick, USB-A is still widely used.
Apple Premium Reseller Amac started to discount the MacBook up to €180. Good news?
So they're shorting their own prices out of speculation (that there will be a release in March)?Doesn't mean anything. They are left in the dark just like us. Even Apple retail employees no nothing until the announcement.
Hold up...We are actually discussing why/how the USB-A ports should/will stay? Ridiculous. I mean if we were talking about Lenovo/Dell/Asus etc. it would be understandable, but Apple?! The company that released a one port notebook aside from the headphone jack. You can pretty much be CERTAIN that USB-A ports (Along with the HDMI) will be eradicated from the port line up if the rMBP gets a redesigned. Apple doesn't take half measures and they have never cared about convenience when it comes to ports. Also you are free to look back in the thread if the only argument you have is how the rMBP is a (*sighs) "Pro" notebook (you know just like the iPad Pro and the new iPad Pro 9.7 " bound to be released next month).
Wrong. The next MacBook Pro redesign whenever it comes out will still have legacy use A ports
So they're shorting their own prices out of speculation (that there will be a release in March)?
Apple did not remove USB A ports when thunderbolt 1 and 2 ports came out, even though those were superior.History isn't on your side.
Until any trustworthy leaks are out or until the annoucement itself, we won't know what they will do with the ports.
We could keep the argument running for another 100 pages but that seems rather pointless.
Maybe bet on what might happen and whoever is the most accurate wins like a helium balloon or perhaps an iTunes giftcard
Apple did not remove USB A ports when thunderbolt 1 and 2 ports came out, even though those were superior.
And they still had HDMI even though thunderbolt was superior.
Also, this exact case has not happened in history.
I stand by my argument, and I am correct.
The next redesign of the MacBook Pro will have atleast 1 usb A port.
More websites are writing about it, like Apple Insider: http://appleinsider.com/articles/16...h-iphone-event-pushed-back-a-week-to-march-22Bad news. It's a rumor from Korea said that the mid-March event will be postponed to 22th next month. Anybody else heard that?
P.S. I heard it from a Chinese Apple news site weiphone.com
Your comparisons make no sense. Thunderbolt wasn't a replacement for USB, it was a replacement for Firewire (and come Thunderbolt 2 that replaced Firewire along with Ethernet.)
Finally, Thunderbolt 3 is altogether a different port entirely. It really is the One Port to Rule Them All, and it's co-opted the USB Type-C connector so it can be used as a USB port—this time Thunderbolt 3 *can* be the replacement for USB (because a Thunderbolt 3 port is just a USB port that does more stuff if you have the right cable.)
This isn't to say that Apple might not keep some legacy USB3 ports around for a while, even with a redesign—after all they didn't immediately swap all FireWire 800 ports for Thunderbolt, just as they didn't immediately drop all FireWire 400 ports for 800. But if you're a betting man, the smart money is expecting that Apple will move faster than might be comfortable for a lot of people with shedding standards and ports and technology of the past.
You mean like 2012, when they did the opposite of what you just said?Guys don't get too exited please.
Haven't you learned anything in all those years!![]()

I hope it isn't true, takes too long lol. When they announce new MacBooks I'd be happy though.
