What are you guys thinking of buying of there aren't any updates this week?
I've needed a new computer for 3 months now, and was planning to replace my 2008 15" MBP which is beyond salvageable with the redesigned 15". I'm admittedly a light user (browsing, MS Office, Preview) and need a bigger screen (have never wanted an external) but don't need many ports, so was considering a refurbished rMB 1.1GHz or a 13" MBP to tide me over until June/possibly later. Any thoughts or bright ideas to help a tech naive person out? Thanks!!
A MacBook Pro.What are you guys thinking of buying of there aren't any updates this week?
Just a model with 512GB and a better processor. Like 13 inch.Thought:
Just assume that apple drops the dGpu from MBP's and relies totally on iGPU, then what they are gonna sell at 2500$?
option 1: in 2000$ model we won't get iris pro 580.
option 2: no model worth 2500$.
I just looked it up, you must have got your computer before April in 2010. Because April 2010, they moved too i5/i7 processors. And that was the reason I registered for this forum 6 years ago, for the "waiting for Arrandale MBP thread"
It would be great if they had a 32Gb of ram for the high end version.Thought:

Really want to ask you guys, when you sendin your culture, what do you actually mean?
Because this emotion icon means "smile with contempt or scorn" in China, kind of an elegant indifference, like "It's interesting" or "I hear what you say".
BB employee claiming the Macbook looks to be updated tomorrow : https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/4b7kyv/macbook_12_renew/
This jives with the earlier leak of Macbook update tomorrow. Nothing on the Pro front though.
12" - 14" - 16" MacBooks - upgradeable to i7 but iGPU only14" MacBook. Do it.
It would be great if they had a 32Gb of ram for the high end version.
There would also be more space on the logic board without the dGPU
Its my first mac anyway so i will be buying one soon i hope a new coming out but anyway both would be the same for me i am not doing anything professional on it but i would a bigger storage thats all i can buy 128 gb and external hDD and it would be much cheaper for me but i prefer to have internal storage thats all ? So i guess it is what it is and nothing i can do about itThe MBP situation is ridiculous.
There are a ridiculous number of modified/upgraded 2010+ model MBPs out there.
It's long overdue. Dell, Lenovo, Razor, etc. have all caught up and offer superior hardware.
http://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-proCan someone help me why is the rMBP the one with the top specs is the only one i can change the Storage capacity ? The other 2 i cant only RAMS & processor i can change ?
Sadly that's the apple way... You could always upgrade the storage yourself now that OWC offers upgrade kits..Can someone help me why is the rMBP the one with the top specs is the only one i can change the Storage capacity ? The other 2 i cant only RAMS & processor i can change ?
12" - 14" - 16" MacBooks - upgradeable to i7 but iGPU only
15" MacBook Pro - i7 and dGPU
5K Thunderbolt 3 display with eGPU and noGPU options
Sounds like a decent lineup for me imho![]()
I'd imagine that they would push with the even numbered lines of MB lines and 16" with a form factor of the rMB and perhaps a thin bezel like XPS sounds doable. No iGPU for 15" if the dGPU isn't some sort of GTX970-980m. The Iris Pro 580 is performing like a GTX950m, which is the equivalent of the top spec MBP dGPU Apple used to put in (750m i.e).
Also: what? 16" Macbook but a 15" Macbook Pro? This doesn't make any sense.
I checked the 2nd one and same thinghttp://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro
13" 2.7GHz, there are 2 SSD sizes, the model on the left is 128GB, model in the middle is 256GB.
On the right, is the 13" 2.9GHz - you need to press select, to then choose between SSD size from the next screen.
Need to press select under the 15" MBP models to choose SSD size also.
