At least it's something to calm the rabid mob.

P.S. Cue the "don't make it any thinner, it's good just how it is" comments

Cue the "but you don't understand, i'm on the move all day, current 13" rMBP breaks my damn back" comments in response.

And the cycle continues..

Man, the problem now is, knowing I have to wait to WWDC, and they are doing a full refresh (potentially), I want to see a lower end Polaris Dedicated GPU in the 13". I cant be happy :(

Interesting. I will never understand how much more efficient is 45W TDP CPU from another 45W CPU.

I will never understand also how 4TFLOPs Nvidia GPU is more powerful than 4TFLOPs AMD GPU.

Journalism...

Think of TFLOPS as something like a Interstate. Its a measure of the maximum traffic that the interstate can handle.
Now think of other things that go into making that interstate actually move traffic. You have various onramps at different locations (other pieces of the CPU architecture), and then you have the laws that are applied to different lanes on the interstate (carpool only, etc - this is like software).

Two interstates with the same amount of lanes rates for the same amount of vehicles can have vastly different real world usability from those other pieces.

I think I should have put /sarcasm at the end of my post.

But overall, yes, the new Skylake chips are more efficient. If we compare high end and mid end desktop chips to Haswell or Broadwell, they are more efficient. But those unlocked CPUs have actually higher TDP than predecessors.

Efficiency in Skylake CPUs comes from more performance in the same thermal envelope. It will not make them run on battery longer than ever before.

So, I have to ask, what is everyone doing, if there's no new rMBP's announced at WWDC? I need to replace my laptop before August and need an alternative.

If you are waiting for 15", my guess is skylake version won't be available until at least September/October when Polaris is available.

Don't tell that to fanatics on this thread as I've been saying that since last September and have been crucified for alleged blasphemy.

For those of you that aren't developers or rely on Apple only software, definitely go check out the Razor or Dell XPS machines. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Windows 10 for vast majority of people. I use it everyday and it's fast, stable and looks good.

The only area where Apple beats Dell/Microsoft IMHO is in terms of display scaling and integration of trackpad gestures throughout the OS.

I understand why people like, even prefer Apple, due to it's aesthetics and some of the apple only apps, but that doesn't seem to be enough of a factor to wait on purchasing a new laptop unless you are bound to them like some of us are for work.

We aren't nearly as spoiled for choice in Europe.

The Razer Blade (2016) isn't even available, in fact the 2015 version just became available a few weeks ago, and it's priced absursdly high. Otherwise, I'd have been sorely tempted to buy that and just hackintosh it.

I feel your pain. I'm in Canada and most Apple products are 30 to 40% more expensive than American pricing. Of course, a large part of that is attributed to the lower value of our dollar, but Apple has definitely taken some liberties in their pricing.

The Dell XPS is a great machine if you can get your hands on it and it should be more affordable than the Razor.

Wooooo rumors.

Let's hope these are possible macBook Pros

That or the MacRumors staff was seriously concerned about our mental health and worked with DigiTimes in efforts to help.

Don't care if they are thinner as long as they still work. I'll be slightly disappointed if these end of being just regular MacBooks BUT at least its a step in the right direction. The 13'' and 15'' size makes me think MBP. If not it at least shows us what is to come.

Am really hoping we get an event sometime in 2016 with a full refresh - new MBP, Mac Pro, true 6th Gen iMac (with DDR4 and USB-C), Mac Mini, etc.

It's not blasphemy, but it doesn't make sense at all.
- Polaris will probably come up in June/July
- in September/October Intel will probably introduce Cannonlake|Tigerlake|Whateverlake
- do you seriously believe Apple will wait 500+ days for upgrading one of its more important computers?
Hell, even the dumbest of the iSheeps will start doubting the freshness of it...

And please do not treats us as stupids.
You're not smarter, nor your previsions were made on reliable informations.
