I dont know why anyone would want a Laptop with a touchscreen. Similar to the people ordering keyboards for their iPads. I just don't get it. But i don't need to i guess :)

Am I the only one around here that doesn't want new rMBPs available in multiple colours? It makes sense for iOS devices, and maybe even the MacBook, but a Pro machine (with many different spec options) shouldn't be paraded around in gold or rose gold. I can also see it becoming a logistical issue, having to keep in stock the many spec options in each of the colours. Surely some of you agree with me?

The "pro" argument doesn't hold weight due to the iPad Pro. I'm not sure the logistics thing is valid; no matter what guts you select, the bodies are all the same, no?

I knew they were going to have only 2 USB-C ports, but only that?! Oh well, whatever. The people on the forums will go CRAZY, particularly about the lack of a headphone jack if the rumor is true.

That is about MacBooks though, not MacBook Pros.

I just realised that prices for the newest MB have gone up by almost 250$ in Norway
Surely hope they're not planning the same for the new rMBP o_O

Whereas the current rMBP is ≈ 120$ cheaper in the largest electronics store...

Im a pro user...and id be fine with 2 usb c ports...one usb c and the other tb3.
However, I would like a seperate port for power. If thinness is a problem...Apple should just put in a smart connector charging system

If apple seriously release a rMBP with only 2 USB-C ports on June, my money is going to dell for the XPS 15 even if it means dealing with Windows.

Digitimes article states "MacBooks" and second half of the year; MBP will be updated before then.
MacBooks were just refreshed, and second half starts on July. Models could be announced in WWDC and made available in the second half (a.k.a July). Plus, it's not the first time the names have been switched. There were rumors in 2014 and early 2015 about a 12" Air. I don't need to go on, we all know what was released on on the March Event 2015. :D

No need for that since they will have t 2x usb-c thunderbolt 3 ports

you never learn nothing from the past? every big rumour that is repeated almost every time it is the TRUTH ? apple in china cannot make anything safe from outside world. I bet with you my house, it will have almost same design, a10, 2 gb ram, no audio port, no oled. And i bet that iphone 8 will be a major iphone for the 10 years iphone anniversary with oled, wireless charging (on area not on a pad) a bigger change in design, smaller bezels ! i already won a bet with someone here that he was told me the macbook second gen can have a 300$ price drop like the original air. But i told him 0-100$ .

I agree with most of what you've said, and think you're probably right ^^ all i'm saying is, there is very little concrete information, even in the form of rumors from china, about the iPhone 7. Do you have any rumours to link about the iphone 7 having 2GB of RAM?

Also, I know basically nothing about OLED. Can someone explain to me what the differences/advantages/disadvantages are between OLED vs. LED? (sorry, this is going way off topic)

the only big flaw about OLED and still happening in the latest S7, burn-in, every time. but power cons is lower, you have perfect black, samsung have with super amoled same brightness level or almost on par with lcd
you said oled vs led...oled is organicled
the big downside of oled is today standards in tech :) low life time :)
if you want to keep the oled display for more than 4-5 years will you get a wash out display in time

why it died man ???? mine still going strong, but i have only 230 cycles
My 2013 rMBP only has 5 cycles. The reason for this is I have had the battery replaced once and the trackpad replaced 2 or 3 times. Every time there is something wrong with my trackpad (which is shortly every time they repair my laptop) they have to replace the battery and keyboard too because it's all connected. So in the last year I have had 3 to 4 new batteries in my 2013 rMBP 13". I have an extended applecare plan and haven't paid an additional dime for all of the repairs. But my trackpad is acting up again. I will wait to take it in again and am waiting for wwdc when they announce (for sure) the new 2016 Skylake macbook pro's.

Thats even better....however I would still require a seperate port for charging. They can fit it in if they WANT to...but will they? I think theres only one port on the rMB because its a design statement. However for the Pro they might play it safe and introduce MagSafe 3 or do something like the iPad Pro smart connector.

yes you will have 2 ports, and from both you can charge your mac. but that theory with smart connector we heard some rumours that can act like a charging port for the Mbp

Trying to think of a reason why they'd do this. Touchscreens are no option, OSX isn't optimized for that, unless the next version is. Then again, a touchscreen would make it look like some kind of iPad/Mac mix, something Tim Cook swore not to release.

But hey, maybe it'll be something stunning! (and, of course, available in Rose Go... errr Pink ;))

Well if you could take the screen off a 15 rMBP or fold it right back and draw on it with the pencil, I'd be happy :)

It's going to happen one day...they could do it now if it wasn't for the fact it would kill yer iPad Pro...probably...

What about where in the invitation it says love at first swipe, I think that may mean touch screen rMBP's. Do you think?

Nah..not yet..though I would be made up if so and it would be a move into 'the future' IMO.

I've got a traditional Wacom hooked up to the latest top end iMac..a 2010 MBP that I've modded along the way and has been absolutely great...I'm holding on for the next iteration..but would just love to draw on screen..

Even thinking of buying a dell xps 15 plus iPad Pro over the new rMBP ...( when they ineviatable drop the xps price on new rMBP arrival)

I agree there is not much use to it. The only thing I tend to do on touch screens is scrolling through web pages and documents.
