I'm going to be quite surprised if WWDC brings OS X Ive, iOS 10, Apple Music Beta 2 AND a full refresh of Macs. I've read "September" somewhere but I can't remember where (and I am not an insider either).

Last year's was nearly 2.5 hours. With new products to support, like Apple Watch, Music, iPad Pro, Apple TV, etc. events are going to get longer. There's a lot to talk about.

Did a freelance video project this week and uggghhh, my 2010 MBP just couldn't keep up. Being creative when your machine sucks really isn't easy. I should've bought a new one so many times now, but Skylake keeps lurching right over the horizon. I NEED IT NOW.

Very happy to see Serban's information. :)
I won't go into specifics, but Serban was one of the first to provide reliable information on the new Retina MacBook last spring (2015), if I recall correctly. Unless it was just pure luck back then I think the new MacBook Pro's are actually happening.

I think the new MBPs are happening regardless of Serban's information. There are enough rumors from Digitimes, etc. that we can expect that.

Regarding Serban's info on the rMB, this is a quote from December 10, 2014:
"I just received the 12" Macbook Air prototype and it's just again the perfect portable with 2.29 pounds and 0.2 to 1.6 cm thick
The display is what to expect an IPS panel made by LG
Broadwell cpu with dual 1.6 Ghz
The thickness is about as usb ports now...i think they will not make it even thinner with usb ports on it in the future"

Granted it was described as a prototype, but a lot of the specs were incorrect: it ended up weighing 2.03 lb and being 0.36 to 1.32 cm thick. And of course it did not have a 1.6 GHz Broadwell CPU, which would have implied a wholly different class of chips (15W U class chips) than the Core M chips it got.

Apple always testing more than one prototype for a new product design and all of them must be almost issues/bug free
Nevertheless Wwdc is around the corner
[doublepost=1462484261][/doublepost]iphone has for the first time i think, 4 prototypes in testing

Can we see the sketches of the mentioned MacBook Pro prototype?

yes it is, since in laptops or any desktop you have right click, in ios iphone you have 3d touch.
in ios 3d touch is like a shortcut or black hole , is like you force touch a mail and see a short preview etc
i have them both, believe me.
[doublepost=1462433118][/doublepost]i mean maybe the feel and sensitivity is a little bit different, but the idea and technology is almost the same
[doublepost=1462433359][/doublepost]i think the iphone has 1 more layer for sensitivity

Uhhh... You literally just pointed out the difference right there. 3D touch has an extra layer of sensitivity. That's why you can do different things by pressing harder or lighter. Force touch does not have that functionality.

3D touch is an improvement on force touch. That's why they're not the same and why I want Apple to bring it to the new trackpads.

Also, please post the sketches before my face implodes from suspense. Even if you have to draw them from memory and it looks like a 4 year old drew them. lol

Force touch = 3D touch
Why?

Click = tap
Right click = long press
Force touch = 3D touch

The layer issues are purely software features that will most likely get picked up more in osx soon. But in osx force touch is bound to be limited as most apps wouldn't bother supporting it due to the fact that they still need to accommodate mouse users
:)

And they sent you a prototype Macbook? I guess you are an insider!

I just read the front page of MacRumors, about Apple needing more real estate to work on their Apple Car.

WTF ARE YOU DOING APPLE?

I remember seeing this exact thing happening before, when Apple failed. They're not focused on their products anymore...cars really? Why? Go start a conglomerate if you plan to do that. you can't release all these products under one company. Do what Google did! Apple was awesome when it made computers (yew phones/tablets are computers). but cars. No wonder they're releasing lacklustre designs.

Oh boy...jumping ship seems more real with each passing day.

WWDC better be blockbuster.

If Apple offers a 14" in a 13" form factor and a 16" in a 15" form factor, which will you be getting?
I still can't decide. I think it might depend on the guts. If the 16" has just a beast of a dGPU (compared to the iris 550) I might go for it. Otherwise I think I might like the portability of the 14" more. Easier to sit on a couch or bring with me to school/hospital

I made a poll not too long ago:

Today, Nvidia will probably unveil the new GTX 1070 and 1080. I don't know if they will unveil any other mobile gpu but 1070 and 1080 are based on the new pascal architecture so maybe we will see some mobile cards.

The riddle on the countdown page was sent to US hardware magazines and it contains some kind of text that has connections to geforce. Also in there are scientists named like kepler which nvidia uses for project codenames. "Order of 10" probably hints that, like they said earlier, the pascal architecture will be 10x faster than maxwell.

Every source I consider reliable points to a Q3 update. It makes sense to release the new Macs the same time as a new version of OS X, but what doesn't make sense is the excruciating wait for new hardware.

Where should skylake Preorder chit chat be, should we make a new thread or leave it in this one.

I imagine this thread will become slight busy with any announcement, but I can't keep up with two rapid fire threads that probably consist of the same group of people lol

I think it's hard enough to follow the live stream AND read this blog, so let's keep it here. Same as you, I can't keep up with 2 threads haha

Two possibilities. Apple releasing new Macbook Pro:
-Next WWDC with macOS announcement.
-Fall keynote with macOS releasing.

And other that could irritate people that want to decide between both size screen. Like they did with first MacBook Pro with retina display, bigger display model at WWDC, and smaller display model at fall event...

Could someone merge both threads about incoming macbook pro(redesigned and skylake)? It would be a lot easier to follow the comments...

I think, that i found the new MacBook Pro Skylake in space grey :p not bad
